2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Sully (1378) - Potts Point, New South Wales, - JUL 5, 2003
Soapy nose with no real hop presence. In the glass it looks fine. The hop presence does not live up to the promise however there is some hop presence, albeit largely POR. Reasonable but not fabulous
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Spanner (60) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - FEB 3, 2004
A fruity, not overly effervescent ale that grows on you with each bottle. One for an all-nighter.
Spanner.
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 Anonmatel (22) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 22, 2003
Fruity smell, kinda average with a poor thin head. Nice hops flavour coming through, but it seemed to me ths beer was lacking a few things to make it worth my while, i'll drink it again, but i'm not going to go out of my way in order to get some.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 mutant (854) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - FEB 22, 2003
Clear orange, fruity aroma. Malt is almost non-existant. Pronounced overwhelming bitterness with long heavy finish. I guess it's unbalanced, too bitter for me but others will like it.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 dubs (117) - St Peters, NSW, AUSTRALIA - JAN 14, 2003
Hooray! My hundredth beer. Cant wait to get all the amazing club perks!!! This beer was pretty nice I reckon. Very easy drinking with aromatic hops. A nice easy way to slide into the exclusivest of exclusive clubs...
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 eczematic (1297) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JAN 13, 2003
yet another pale ale. hopefully the micros here will move onto something a bit stronger or more interesting soon. this one scores points for actually being bitter (due no doubt to the ingenious addition of "alpha resins" that the moron who wrote the back label thinks are so special). there"s also heaps of cascadey fruity flavour. the malt is a bit thin, sticky and brown sugarish, and it’s overall a bit acidic. flat, too. but the best of the mastheads i’ve had.

clear read colour, no head. Hoppy aroma hints of grass. Soapy taste.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 1, 2002
Maybe it’s a reaction to rating so many below average beers lately but I quite liked this one. Pours an attractive gold amber crystal clear under a medium size and lasting pale yellow head and generates some remanent lacing. Medium floral honey sweet nectar with hint of perfumed soap aroma. Thinnish low carb but stii quite satisfying body. Medium strength dry floral bitter hop start. Slightly sweeter malt middle back to bitter finish and that dry floral bitter again in the aftertaste.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Linc (736) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - OCT 8, 2002
Definately fits into the mould of an APA, but is not dry enough to be refreshing.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 winkle (456) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - SEP 14, 2002
I’ll disagree with duff on this one. I found it to be a fairly reasonable pale ale.
