Clear dark red brown with a decent foam layer. The smell is Malty with apple flavors. The taste however is malty and with foul sourish apple flavors. The aftertaste has an especially bad touch and is quite unpleasant. I wouldn’t recommend this beer, but since the blond beer from the same brewery is really good, it might be that my beer was infected.

500ml bottle at Pizza DOC in Melbourne. It is a lightly spiced red ale with caramel and orange peel notes. Lightish hop finish. Medium body and carbonation. Goes down well with the excellent pizzas served at this restaurant. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Luxury bottle. I am always suspicious when I see beer in luxurious bottle, specially Italian one. Cloudy amber, low carbonation. sweet with light body. Insipid.

Bottle from an Italian stall in Westfield Stratford as no. 28. Hazy dark amber reddish brown. Some biscuit malt and sweetish fruity malt. Fruity malt in mouth, some light milk chocolate. It’s ok if a little thin. Not much hop on the finish, but ok.

Aroma: intense grain and bread malts, some caramel. Appearance: hazy amber, small, frothy, off-white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: light sweets continue, very malty, medium body, soft carbonation. Overall: would call this an Amber Ale, pleasant to drink, but lacks complexity. Bottle from Coop, Thun-Straettligen.
