COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The distinctive all-natural malt lager created specifically for the North's No. 1 self-styled "slow town". Matakana epitomises the great kiwi lifestyle of beaches, baches and barbeques. We created this premium beer for sharing with friends in our favourite part of New Zealand. With a great climate and great people, there's no better place to enjoy this refreshing lifestyle lager.

A wonderful beer. i tried some at a bbq eariler this year. It was chillled and worked very well with the classic NZ bbq dinner. Excellent!

Tasted 29/08/2005. 330ml bottle. Bright and pale gold. White, vanishing head. Mild grass and lemony hop nose. A little bit soapy. Little malt profile, the dominant flavour is a strong lemony bitterness - the flavour of a thyme leaf but without the astringent aftertaste. Lingers quite some time and hints of watermelon. A little one-dimensional but certainly drinkable. Thankfully this avoids the honey-like sweetness of the international "premium" lagers. If you like Cock and Bull Blue Goose, my guess is you’ll like this.
