A - Pours a dark black with a bit of brown in it and a finger of frothy tannish head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some lacing. S - Aroma is a mix of dark roasted chocolate and caramel malts with some coffee, earthy hops, and some yerba. T - Starts off with a mix of roasted chocolate and caramel malts with a bit of black licorice and a hint of sweetness. Through the middle, some roasted coffee comes through with a bit of earthy hops and some yerba. The finish is a mix of roasted chocolate and coffee, some caramel malts, yerba, and a bit of sweetness. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and roasted finish. D - Very drinkable. Nice balance and good finish.

Bottle:   Black in color, large pillowy light beige head, nice lacing.   Soft charred wood and campfire on the nose.   Otherwise it has a very freshly cut oak aspect.   Strange.   Not roasty like others, but instead it seems like ash, charred wood, campfire, and fresh cut oak.   Seems pretty full bodied.   Finishes quick, and the flavor diminishes rather quickly.   The fresh cut oak is rather bizarre, but welcomed.   This one is really different from the norm.   I am actually kind of liking it.   It almost seems more of a light smoked beer aged in oak, and it comes across as an Ale rather than a Lager.   Yeah, very different.

Pours black with two fingers tanish head. Smell is spice and cinnamon, a bit of pine cone, reminds me of Christmas. Taste is better, roasty, and herbal. Interesting beer.

0.66 l bottle from Bierkompass. Dark reddish brown color. Sweet dark bread aroma with raisins and charcoal. Slightly sweet roasty flavor with charred bread and woody and herbal spices (clove, licorice root). Sharpish carbonation, slightly woody palate. Fairly good, carbonation could be softer.

yngwie (10760) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 17, 2012
Bottle, 22oz. A reddish brown beer topped by a finger-thick beige head. Lightly roasted nose with prunes and some malty sourness. Coffee-dry, medium bodied and tasting of cold coffee in the back. Dried fruits, mostly prunes, and some notes of sweetness as well. Roasted, coffee-like finish with dried fruits and some bitterness. A quite tasteful one, but a bit unharmonic. 120817
