Chunky, hazy orange coloured body with a dense tan head. Aroma of light hops, apricots, yeast, wort and a touch of tea (yerba) and coriander seed. Light to Medium-bodied; Sharp hoppiness up front of pine and pineapples with some light yerba flavours and a little green tea notes as well. Aftertaste shows some slight bitterness from the caffeine perhaps with a little hop note and a touch of wort or unfinished beer. Overall, a decent beer - interesting to say the least, and not a failure in my opinion, just not a great beer. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from City Beer in San Francisco, California on 29-July-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 24-January-2011.

Bottle. Pours golden cloudy orange with medium white head. Much lacing. Piney and tea like aroma, not hoppy like a good IPA. Flavour is very much of mate, the yerba mate has overpowered everything else. A little citrus in the finish and more yerba mate. Average at best.

Bottle:   On the orangish side of amber, thin spritzy white head, sparce lacing.   Slight floral, citrus, and perfume aroma.   Smells a little artificial.   Something about it reminds me of a candle.   Semi-sweet pixie stix piny flavored Pale Ale.   Not that hoppy, a little artificial, wax like maybe.   Has a strange medicial bitterness.   Flavors fall off quickly.   More of a Pale Ale than an IPA.   Has this weird candyish sweetness.   Reminds me a little of those wax filled candy things.   Just not that interesting.   Heck, this almost feels like a weak Pale Ale.   IPA... dont think so.   Blech...

A light amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of spicy hops combined with a light note of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of spicy hops and yerba mate sirup, leading to a dry, spicy, and hay like finish. Not my thing.

Interesting brew. Nice try but dont really see the point in trying to make something like this. It is basically just a pale ale with alternative flavoring. Worth a try but nothing special.

22 oz bottle bought from "Habits" in S.Salem. Appearance is quite murky for the usual IPA..it has the dull orange colour, but its very hazy, head is a dirty eggshell colour. Aroma is slighly honeyish/spicy hop. Flowery, delicate actually quite nice. Taste is strange..it has the hops OK..grassy to pine like, but they are almost overwhelmed by a strange tea like ( its not but thats the closest i can get) taste. slighly metallic near the end. OK on the tongue average fior style. Overall a strange beer..i had their Pale Ale a coupe of years back and didnt like it the first bottle..it grew on me after that. perhaps this will be the same. need to try another bottle.

12oz bottle from Total Wine Brea. Pours clear golden orange with small white head. Aromas of oranges, sweet malts, citrusy hops, and some caramel. Flavors of candied sugars, some bitter hops, light citrus, and caramel. Mouthfeel is syrupy and has light carbonation. Pretty crappy IPA.

650 ml. bottle. Pours a thin head, over a very slightly hazy golden amber (SRM 8) body......nose is light pine, smidgen of pineapple.....taste is light pine, bit of citrus, bit of pineapple toward the finish, finishing with a light slightly astringent bitterness typical of Yerba.....mouth feel is very light, almost watery, carbonation is low. This is a very light IPA, with minimal hop tones and very light malt influence. An interesting experiment that was almost successful. BJCP 6/3/11/4/5

Oh my, well....really nice aroma. Something that I couldn’t quite make out. Nice light carmel color with white frothy head. But oh crap really medicinal/sweet from whatever this tea crap is they use. Not so pleasant. Has some decent qualities, but I cannot get past that lingering almost licorice flavor to enjoy the hops.

22 oz bottle. Pours a dark orange with a small white head leaving almost no lacing. Smell is mostly malt with a bit of tea. Taste is strong of tea and bitterness. The initial taste is sweet with tea and alcohol on the finish. Light bodied.
