COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Brewers Reserve Alpha Pale Ale is very much in line with the beers from America’s North West – assertive bitterness together with a distinctive fruit and citrus aroma - except we’ve put a Matilda Bay spin on it. It has a big hop nose with citrus notes derived from the use of Cascade hops imported from North America. 35 IBU.

MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - DEC 14, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2007 Bottle (345ml). Poured a amber with orange highlights and a decent size creamy head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was sweet, with plenty of grapefruit, citrus and fresh hops, pinecones and pineneedles. Taste was an ok hoppy bitter with more citrus, some resin, grassy hops followed by mild notes malt and caramel. Medium bodied with an average metallic finish. This one was much better the second time around, seemed more hoppy.

Bottle, Murdoch University bar, WA Possibly a good batch? Thick luscious malts, and crisp american hops through aroma a palate, much maltier than I recall previously, Kick’s Little Creatures butt!

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2008 Tetasted 10/09/2008. 330ml bottle. Fantastic hop aroma and flavour this time. Juicy fruit with a great big hop wollop. Almost as good as Little Creatures and up there with Squire’s IPA. good one. Tasted 22/09/2007. 345ml bottle from BrewNZ. Deep gold with a disappearing off-white head. Dominant hop aroma - grapefruit, strawberry and a touch of mango-ish tropical. Some piney resin. Very light hint of caramel. Flavour again hop dominated... slightly metallic, nettley, and definitely rather blunt. Good strong bitterness. Peppery on the palate. Clean malt character - hardly anything to speak of, and certainly not enough to stand up to the ibu’s. Medium light body, slightly heavy carbonation. Pretty well made but not a great recipe - a little blunt and boring.

Being a Perth WA resident-how could i not rate this beer. From tap, a rich tan colour leads to an caramel malt taste with a nice after-twang to remiond you that some thought went into this one. A regular favourite in the pubs of Perth and rightly so. Not too heavy to be hard going but enough strength and character to stand out from the crowd.

Dull copper (or maybe light tan?) with a very thin creamy head. Highly aromatic nose of fruity, herbal resiny hops. Slightly more pedestrian to taste; resiny hops remain and infact they are a touch aggressive, but regardless they define the palate structure well. A touch too fizzy perhaps? This beer is in the next ball park when compared to the ’just going’ stablemates Beez Neez and Redback. (BB 3/08)

A lesser version of Little Creatures. Little to no head and an amber colour. Smooth and citrusy but has abit of an odd metallic aftertaste. Still very drinkable and recommended.

(Bottle 34,5 cl) Courtesy of highlandlad. Pours a clear, amber golden with a small, off-white head. Very fresh and citrusy aroma with a hint of pine needles also. Medium body, light accents of caramel, very floral an citrusy hopping. The finish is dry and hoppy. Lovely indeed. 290607
