3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught. Pours an appealing golden shade, with decent white head. Grassy hoppiness on the nose, and slightly sour on the palate, but light bodied. A decent enough offering.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
330mL bottle. Pours clear effervescent pale gold with a small white head that leaves a fair amount of lacing. Biscuity, faintly fruity and grassy aroma, maybe a little sulphur. Slightly grainy and malty with some hop flavour, very low sweetness with a slight bitterness. Light bodied, average carbonation and a dry finish. Unadventurous, which is no surprise, but without any glaring flaws.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is everything I want in a session beer. I had a case of bottles, fresh off the pallet from my place of business. It’s light, with a thin head but a great summery nose of lychee and pineapple. The same flavours continue through the palate, delicious and tropical but with a nice short dry finish. Is it the best lager I’ve had? Not close. But would I drink one, two or eleven every single hot Australian summer day? Definitely!

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Golden straw in colour with fluffy white head. Aroma is German like, suggesting they’ve actually used pilsner malt, which is a nice start, and noble hops. Palate though comes across as grainy, a bit thin and lacking the fullness you get from a real German helles or Dortmunder. Basically big brewery version that doesnt come up to scratch.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Clear gold with little head. Aroma is slightly vegetably hops with a fruity hint. Light body with medium carbonation. Flavour is thin and watery with a fruity start combined with a somewhat artificial candy sweetness. There is some botterness in the finish but it is rather unpleasantly metallic. Overall disappointing.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Small average foamy white head, over a very clear glowing amber body. Toasty bread and herbal hops, light bodied and balanced with a soda water like dryness to the finish.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours amber with a large but quickly fading head.
Nose shows light noble hops with spicy and grassy notes. Faint banana shows initially but quickly fades. Biscuity, slightly toasty Munich malt is noticeable, but a slightly disagreeable sweet vegetable note is also present.
More biscuity malt as a flavour and, unfortunately, more of the sweet vegetable note. Spicy hops just detectable.
Carbonation is too high, body too light.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pretty good beer but I’m not well qualified to opine on whether it’s true to style. Really nice core of Belgian-like sweetness running through the middle of the palate. There’s a sweet mineral / freshly cut river stone note as well that is quite attractive. Munich lager with a touch of steriods I think but works well.

Dry and malty. Very nice and lots of salt. A good one from the hit and miss Maltilda Bay.
