Fresh Australian apples, elbow grease and a whole lotta love has gone into brewing this authentic full-flavoured crushed apple cider (Granny Smith apples may or may not have been used in the making of this cider).

345ml bottle from Beer Cartel, Sydney. Deep golden colour, white foam head and mellow apple aroma. Taste is bittersweet apple, light apple skin, vanilla, tangy sour, hint of funk. Medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, dry slightly tannic finish. Quite drinkable.

bottle, from the fridge at bronte surf club. clear golden with plenty of fizz; pleasant enough cottee’s apple cordial flavour with a very minimal but adequate barny quality. it’s amazing to see how many ciders are available in australia these days - it used to be just a question of mercury or strongbow

I don’t usually do cider but I bought this thinking it was a beer. Pours a hazy yellow. Aroma is sweet fruit with mainly apples. Taste is also sweet of fruit. OK

345mL bottle Clear golden sort of body, actually holds a bit of a head for a bit...possibly better than alot of beers! Aroma is something different than the normal; brown sugar, bruised apple/acedaldahyde, Pink Lady apple "raspberryness", faint sort of oxidised dried apicot/fruit character. Body is quite full, carbonation somewhat restrained for a cider, bit of slickness across the palate. Cooked apple on the body, faint bit of sweetness with notes of brown sugar and dried fruit. It’s got a bit of funk about it with subtle acetic acid bite and subtle hay/barnyard. Finish ends dry, note of bitterness, acid biased balance. Great to see a commercial brewery stepping out and having a crack of a more funky/Old World-style cider. Plenty of flavour, and a touch of funk - makes me wonder how it would age!
