Bottle. Inoffensive and not a bad session beer. The kind of thing that someone brings to a party and it suddenly looks good next to all the VB and Crownies. Bit weak on the flavour side though, and a similar quality to Matilda Bay’s Bohemian Pilsner. Meh.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. Amber coloured with currants, light burnt toffee notes and orange marmalade with a creamy red fruity finish.

Keg - The Newport Arms, Newport. Poured a clear, bright amber with a thick, creamy, lasting and uniformly lacing white head. Solid biscuity, bready malt backbone with earthy, leafy tones and a gentle grassy, pithy hop bitterness. Light to medium body, soft to medium carbonation with a crisp, somewhat firm mouthfeel and fine length,if moderate intensity, finish.

Straightforward pale ale with no specialties. Aroma quite minimal. Taste is refreshing and thin.

Poured from a bottle. Nice head, golden clear colour. Nice aroma, faint citrus and pleasant new world hoppyness. Taste is good, crisp. Decent pale ale, nice on a summer day.

Lagerboy (1188) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 4, 2014
345 ml bottle brought back from ’Stralia by my Fast and Aggressive chum. Clear light copper, off-white lasting foam. Aroma is mostly caramel, herbs, grass. Light grainy caramel malt taste, somewhat aqueous, faint herbal earthy hop. Average carbonation, lighter bodied, low hopped. Clean, sessional and unremarkable. Apparently it’s better straight from the bottle! Cheers Mate! MLF (More Lagerboy Friendly)

AdiBeer (931) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 28, 2014
Aroma: citrus fruits, caramel malts. Appearance: clear amber, medium frothy white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: light bitters coming up, watery. Overall: boring APA, neither aroma nor taste convince, but given this venue has only other bland stuff like Peroni, it becomes the beer of choice. Bottle at Corney & Barrow, Canary Wharf.

Quite watery and boring American (or Australian?) pale ale, mildly hopped, not quite interesting at all.

345 ml bottle. BB 17/May/14. Aussie Bar, Tampere, Finland.
Clear deep golden colour with a small white head. Sweet malt, sweet hops, candies, sweetness and some airy notes in the aroma. The flavour is sweet malt, sweet hops, floral and candy hops and more sweetness. Drinkable but boring pale ale.

Tap @ Aussie Bar, Tampere.
Pours clear golden color, small head. Mild fruits on the nose, faint fruits also. Fruity flavor, some grains and malts. The cardboard notes ruin this completely.
