2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Inoffensive and not a bad session beer. The kind of thing that someone brings to a party and it suddenly looks good next to all the VB and Crownies. Bit weak on the flavour side though, and a similar quality to Matilda Bay’s Bohemian Pilsner. Meh.

Not much going on here. A lager with a bit of bitterness on finish, pretty light-on but balanced and ok for a quaffa. Nothing offensive but does have mass produced lager undertones. Overall good choice for a lager at a barbie, but underwhelming and bland for a "pale ale".

Bottle, Wine Tavern, Leicester. Golden amber with a bubbly head. Cardboard with caramel and weetabix. Low lemon with dusty notes. Vegetable bitterness. Not great.

I didn’t enjoy this too much, but to be honest, I think I may be a bit unfair to this, as I am on the exact opposite side of the planet in Denmark, so obviously, hops don’t travel all that well etc etc? Hmm... Well, that doesn’t explain the feeling that the barley seems to harshly grow in my mouth. Still, not a complete disaster.

Had this beer 7 years ago in Perth WA, loved it. Tried it yesterday in a pub in northern NSW, insipid, mass produced awfulness.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Restrained aroma in an amber pour. Big malt body is prominent due to the total lack of any hop derived bitterness. The complete opposite of the overly bitter Lazy Yak. The two combined would be a better brew.

Rated from notes: A good light drinking beer with very minuscule amounts of hop flavour. Poured from tap with a medium to large head and a golden colour. Very drinkable.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear Amber beer with a slight beige head, medium body with a nice hops aromas, like orange peel, the flavor is quite good with a nice balance and a nice bitterness aftertaste the expected for a pale ale.
