Maybe it was the atmosphere, company or situation, but I found this to be OK, which doesn’t seem to fit with most reviewers. As a lager, it has the usual crisp and clean taste with enough hops and malts to make it more interesting than a lot of mainstream "big brands" beer you find here.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
345ml bottle. BB 12/12/14. Pale gold colour; tall, frothy, white head which lasted very well and left some lacing. Very gentle aroma of bread, grass, citrus and a little cardboard. Light to medium sweetness and light to medium bitterness. Medium bodied, smooth texture but there is an unappealing, astringent and medicinal bitterness in the finish that lingers and spoils the whole experience. I realise this bottle was a couple of months past its BB date but I’ve had it a few times before and it’s as I remembered. 6.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Keg. A clear golden amber colour with a small but lasting white to off-white head. Biscuit- and caramel malt-centric with grassy hops, a light earthiness and some grain characters. Light to medium body, medium to full carbonation with a short, soft bitterness in the finish.

On tap at the Australian hotel. Nice spicy hop nose. Clear golden beer with lots of carbonation. Taste is papery, wishy-washy, bland. Finish is neutral then late slight vegetal hops. Not great.

Pours clear yellow. Minimal head. Sweet honey like aroma. Some tropical fruit. Very watery body. Taste is malt driven, but very bland. The sweet honey flavour is the only thing really saving it at all.

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Minimum flavour, minimum anything to do with a beer. Fucking ordinary stuff you’d be silly to consider putting this down your throat on a regular basis

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Who the fuck calls a beer minimum chips. Doesn’t really compare to any chips I know of. Super bland lager really. Nothing at all going for it

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
345mL bottle BB 12/12/14
Pours a clear gold body, course bead lending to a soapy sort of small head.
Aroma is reasonable with grainy malt & floral hops notable.
Medium bodied, somewhat short on the finish, tad soapy with a moderate carbonation.
Body is pretty simple with husky cereal malts and touch of hop spice leading to a soft bitterness to finish. Relatively clean, perhaps a touch metallic/minerally as it warms (which it’s probably not designed for, I’m guessing)
Non-offensive, a step above the vast norm it has to be said.

Nothing much to report on this one. Average lager with some slightly off honey like flavour coming through? Easily drinkable as a lager should be.
