Monty84 (18), Perth, Australia Dec 8, 2005 I really love this beer. Easily the best Australian brewed beer that I have tried. When drinking redback I always find it to be refreshing and easy to drink. The taste is difficult to describe - sweet, yeasty and wheaty. It has a lovely aroma too. I could drink these all day. Well done to Matilda Bay for producing such a fine beer. djm (5), San Francisco, California, USA does not count Jan 3, 2006 Excellent filtered wheat beer without the expected flavors of a german hefe, banana/clove, but far more tasty and refreshing than most american style wheat beers. Delicious with just a thimble of raspberry syrup too.
Sadly, this beer hasn’t been available in the US since the early 90s. Why we get Fosters and not this is beyond me. DuffMan (1962), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jun 25, 2005 This was soooo much better when I had it on tap at The Vic after my first footy match, so I’ll base my rating on that experience. Pale gold, hazy, with a big head and nice lacing. Terrific sweet citrus aromas, with a light palate of tangerine and vanilla, and something else... cinnamon? I’m not sure of the latter, but overall it was surprisingly excellent. Equally surprising was how the bottled version failed to deliver any of these flavours! Much better on tap. Jason99 (5), Toowoomba, Australia does not count Sep 11, 2001 Nice drop, one of my more well liked beers. farmboy (218), Barwon Heads, Australia Aug 31, 2003 I really, really enjoy this beer whether it's in summer or the cooler months. The thing I like about it is you can taste it right from when it hits your tongue to long after it slides down your throat.
