(33cl bottle) Pours a clear orange body with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, herbs, and roasted nuts. Flavor of fruit, yeast, grass, herbs, caramel, minerals, and nuts with a moderately dry finish.

Taste this 2 times: first @ home 33 cl. bottle (from Marlou) second on beerfest Jamoigne. Bit hazy almost amber color, with a creamy head. Aroma: spices, sweet malts, (dried) fruits. Medium body. Taste: caramel, spices, (metallic touch), sweet notes, fruits, hops, bitterness.

Clear copper/amber coloured beer with a soft frothy dark white head. On the nose spices of curry, red peppers, herbs, hints of wood/pine honey and (belgium?) caramel malt develop in a complex fassion. After a light liveliness a light slick texture develops the herb/spice flavours further. The finish is long lasting and herb-like. Clearly not a mass or to everbodie’s taste but pretty interesting and complex!

Orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some strong sugar notes as well as some bread. The flavor is full of orange and sugar with some yeast and toffee. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Proteins all in suspension, yet only slightly cloudy foxy-copper beer, with almost no head, despite lively carbonation. Slightly sharp aroma as from (sourish) sherry. Wood, an definitely oxydation. Bitter, woody, chocolate, some spices (no idea which). After some time, a strange, albeit far from unpleasant, sweetness creeps in - thinking of rosehips’ jam, or something similar. Some aperitif - Cynar, maybe? Serious warming up to be avoided, as it turns truly unpleasantly medicinal. Feels flat, again hints at oxydaition on the palate, despite a lack of real oxydation flavours. Strange, the Orval Bretts are obvious, the result however nowhere resembles Orval. I wonder whether the flat, oxydationlike feature is a result of the "medieval" aim, or just lack of control... Whatever - it’s challenging!

(33cl bottle thanks to bu11zeye) clear copper, ring of fine white bubbles. Nose of caramel, sweet grain, bit of peppercorn. Taste of sugar, caramel, saccharin, marshmallow, artificial, not good.
