I decided to try this lager, as on the bottle it says 20c is donated to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal (my city). I sampled the 500mL bottle from Matsons. First up there is a mild hop aroma, the beer is pale yellow with a small white head. The beer is pretty thin even for a lager. There isn’t overly much in the way of malts coming through. Less even then many of the European mainstream beers. Finishes with a light hop after taste which isn’t too lingering. Not a very memorable beer, or one that I would want to have a few of. I rated the overall score slightly higher as its for a good course!

500ml bottle light yellow pours with a minimal head that instantly disappears, light fruity aroma with a citrus & slight malty aftertaste. Really enjoyed it the first time I tried this but definitely less exciting now.

500 ml bottle pours yellow orange with average carbonation and little to no head. Aroma is strong sweet and metallic. Initial taste has bite, then the malty sweetness comes through. Quite acidic and refreshing at the same time. Not too exciting but not a bad beer.

I bought this beer due to living in Chch and we’ve had some earthquakes. And the 20c donation to the earthquake fund. I like the beer and would buy again

Bottled. A yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes straw and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

Simple yet decent beer in the right circumstances. Light citrusy aroma, yello body and foamy white head leads in to a predominately citrus driven flavour with a short finish. Would like this a quite a bit on a hot summer day

500ml bottle from Paul. Love the cause. Clear golden golden yellow with a white head. Grainy with some malt, bit of orange zest and not much else. Odd mouthfeel, sweet with a slight bitterness and an odd funk. Not a big fan of this one but o well - glad to have tried it.

First the good news: 20 cents from the sale of this bottle of beer went to the Christchurch earthquake appeal. As I was in this earthquake and have been a willing participant in the Christchurch beerscape, this is a cause I’ll happily support. Now for everything else: pale straw colour with a thinnish white head. Only the barest of malt aroma and nil hop aroma evident. Frankly, I am deeply disappointed by it. In terms of flavour it was cool in the mouth with a touch of flat homemade lemonade. There was a suggestion of bitterness and a very short finish. Quite what this beer has to do with an earthquake beyond the small donation escapes me. For a beer that was released in winter, it doesn’t even have the hot weather, post-lawnmowing thirst quencher to fall back on. This beer is benign and lacking in any character, which considering the flipping great wads of flavoursome beers being brewed in other Christchurch breweries, disappoints me deeply.
