Matsoís Chilli Beer (probably the hottest in the world).
The legendary chilli, rumoured to be packed with magical properties, they say it can improve your sex life, contains anti-biotics, oozes vitamin C and can stimulate the brain.
Who knows if itís all true, we just like the taste!

No perceptible aroma. Clear pale yellow colour with no head. Doesnít really have much taste it just burns! A lot if chilli and might be ok if youíre looking for a novelty beer, but not something you can just enjoy...

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Aroma is chillies, tomatoes and wet paper. looks like amber water with a few bubbles. Taste is ALL chillies, thereís no discernible beery bits. Actually itís not chillies,itís chilli powder. Aftertaste is just numbing stinging heat. Too spicy to be fun. The only beer that needs another beer to wash it down.

Personally, there was nothing to appreciate. Donít bother to try. It just tastes like boiled water with chilli. I donít want to call it a beer.

Hazy yellow, no head and some medium to flabby carbonation coming through. Not the most enticing looking beer. A vegetal smell that just starts warning bells going off. It has an aroma similar to a tequila beer that deserved every bilious sentence of the slating it received from a number of raters. Puffy carbonatin and a watery body with a thrust of chilli heat that assaults the palate. It is utterly one dimensional - all chilli heat and no body, no finess - all mouth and no trousers. Ihave no intention of proceeding beyond the first mouthful, the drain will be getting the rest.

No head. Slight chilli aromas. Low sweetness no bitters, mild to low carbonation. Chilli tastes artificial,

330ml bottle. BB 2015. Pours a pale straw colour and didnít even attempt to form a head. Aroma of sweet white wine. Initial mouthful gives you a belt of chilli heat. Subsequent drinks reveal some sweet light grain but itís all dominated by the lingering chilli burn. Very thin, watery body. For those that love chilli, this is for you. For those that love beer, avoid like the plague.

Bottle from BWS April 2013. There is a bit of heat in the first taste but not as hot as some chilli beers. The finish is like the summer weather forecast - long, dry and hot.

bottle, picked up at the union in newtown. certainly not short on chili - somewhat generic heat though; in my case the heat seemed to make the beer froth in my mouth; close to undrinkable but i give them marks for pushing the envelope

330ml bottle. Pours a clear medium gold, with a small white head, which fades rapidly and leaves no lacing. Dried chilli is the only really noticeable aroma, maybe a little cardboard. Likewise, aside from a little grainy malt, potent chilli is the only real flavour. Unfortunately it tastes more of dried chilli flakes than fresh chilli. Really just a gimmick.
