3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Darkish amber / Diet-Coke color body. Maltiness is quite strong from the nose to the palate. Sweet bitter chocolate stays around a bit and leaves a clean palate. Good malty/roasty drop.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Doesn't tickle the nose and there is a hairline of white cap on the pour of the dark red brew. But it has a super taste that belies the start. Chocolate and tropical fruit comes through before a sharp but enticing bitterness. Be great to try draught. Not smoky. 330ml, 4.7%, 1.2std drinks.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
What this beer lacks in appearance it makes up for in taste. Pours a fairly dark red-brown with no head or lacing. At a glance it could mistaken for a cola. It is pleasant on the nose with chocolate playing second to malt aromas. It is smooth in the mouth with low carbonation. The flavours are really well balanced with malts prominent as well as chocolate and coffee also in the mix. There is an ever so slightly bitter finish and fittingly something smokey as well.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a reddish brown with a small beige head. Immediate light cocoa and coffee aroma backed on some sweetness. Very light body, low carbonation. Stronger coffee than chocolate flavour. Quite nice, but needs a little more complexity.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
After the last two beers I must admit I was dreading this one! As it ends up all that worry was for nothing! This Dark Lager delivered exactly what it promised on the label. A deep copper brown color, the aroma was malty with a hint of roasted cocoa, the mouth feel was medium and the flavors were as advertised, subtle chocolate notes and hints of coffee and hops. This is a great introductory lager for those who are curious about the world of darker beers and a great one for those who want a lager to go with a lighter meal without overpowering it.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
From 330 ml bottle. Pours a clear burnished bronze with a one finger off-white head and moderate carbonation. Aromas are pretty light, but some caramel, noble hops and a touch of smoke come through. Taste is similar, although light chocolate and vanilla notes are present at the end. Clean finish with a gentle sweet aftertaste. Not bad at all.
