The First Bavarian Pale Ale was created between the three friends Stefano Cossi (formerly Thornbridge Hall Brewery, UK), Matthias Mueller (they met at famous Brewing School Weihenstephan/Germany) and Rudi Hirz. Dry-hopped through the use of a special “Hop mill” as well as in our tank container during its journey from Apostelbraeu to Oxford C.T., USA Hops: Hallertaur Mittelfrueh, Styran Saviniski, Styrian Golding Malts: Bavarian Pale Ale Malt, Spelt Yeast: English Ale Yeast.

0,50 bottle at Peschiera del Garda-Italy. Pours extremely cloudy yellow bright, huge frothy white cap. Nose: citric hops, a bit of pine needles. Mouth: kind of confusing but ok, grainy with a strong American style orientation. Far too bitter and herbal in the end. Inoffensive ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pours a clear pale copper with a huge off-white head. Dry caramel malt with grassy dry hops. I can really taste that German malt, has some faded grassy hops. Maybe slightly better than your average German macro lager.

Man, that’s a huge head of foam! I see a cloudy yellow gold liquid underneath. A mix of hop smells I get. Grass, pine, a bit of citrus and, that smell of spelt malt that I’ve come across before. The taste is somewhat hoppy, grass stands out I think, the spelt malt, as usual, adds an almost vegetal character to it. Not much sweetness to this Pale Ale. Nice mouthfeel, easy to drink. I like this but it does take some getting used to.

Bottle: The aroma has light caramel, fruit, and herbal/spicy notes. It pours a hazy (bordering on cloudy) dark orange with a large creamy off-white head that has great retention. There is a lot of soapy webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of caramel and faint citrus. The finish has some moderate herbal and spicy notes with some light lemon peel.

Babyfood banana and honey. Clear amber, thick sticky head. Honey flavor, awfully metallic, tangy. Soft carbonation, thin. Has a very British feel, and not much in the way of a recognizable hop presence.

50cl bottle. Large white head atop lightly hazed light amber body, though the second pour reveals yeasty murk. Aroma is medium sweet, spicy, orange, some bread, light banana. Taste is medium sweet, spicy, some banana, lemon peel/grapefruit. Light-medium body, some effervescence, nicely drinkable.

Poured from bottle. Hazy banana color pour. Good size head, excellent retention. Faint aroma. Smooth taste, excellent mouthfeel. Slightly dry on finish. Very nice middle of the road beer

Bottle from Beer world Kingston.... A nice lightly cloudy all day drinking ale. The pleasant hop alternates from yeast to hop and hop to yeast dominance several times during the delightful time frame of consumption. too bad its so damn pricey per bottle.

Bottle: ours cloudy amber with a huge, light tan head. Apple peel, malt aroma. Taste is slightly fruity bitter, peels, malt. dry ... This beer is sort of non-descript, to me, in style..however.....it is very, very good.....liked it a lot.

Bottle @ home picked up at Mile High Liquor Denver. Pours a bit hazy, golden orange appearance with a nice, full khaki head. Quite potent, spicy and fresh, herbal, chewy herbal yeasty, just a touch citrusy aroma. Carbonation is a bit strong and zippy. Potent grassy, very herbal, fairly dry grainy flavor. Maybe a bit of citrus, but mostly a grassy, herbal flavor. Interesting and pretty tasty.
