3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Maui Brewing in Kihei.
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is light amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (caramel, toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with a note of honey.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly moderately alcoholic.
The honey is fairly obvious, which is nice; often it gets lost in fermentation. It’s not on the level of decadence of, say, Dupont Biere de Miel, but it’s nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A bit boring overall. Pours out bright amber with a thin off white head. The aroma is a bit grainy with light bready malts and a touch of caramel. Light grass and floral hops. Mild and boring but very drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at CBB Bud. This Amber Ale pours a clear orange gold. A nice fruity nose with crackery graham light malts. Clean light blond ale with peach/apricot then crisp light malts. Simple yet satisfying.

4 oz. draft at the brewery. Straightforward amber ale profile but with a hint of honey and a lovely mouthfeel.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Keg at Maui Brewing Co Brewpub (and also a few days later at Hula Grill for which it is the house beer), 23/04/14.
Clear golden with a moderate off white covering that stays for the show.
Nose is pale malts, light citric injection, spice, straw, floral tones, perfume, honey.
Taste comprises light spice, honey well evident, light caraml vein, citric notes, vanilla.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Ok, does what it says on the tin re: honey, nothing I’d rush back for mind!

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at the brew pub in lahaina. Colour is a little light for a amber. Thin head. Aroma is a bit lagery. Flavour is better definitely a hint of the caramel malt. Pretty light, though I don’t like many amber’s so this held its place on my palate. Palate was thin. Lightly carbonated.

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
An amber?? I thought that this was Bikini Blonde relabeled. Didnt take notes but this was unassuming and plain but not offensive in any way. Good enough. Carry on.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
On tap at Maui brewing ... very, very little bodied. This was about the lightest most watery beer I think I have ever tried. It does has a hint of honey at the finish but overall did not enjoy this at all .. would not recommend.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Shaker pint draft at the Hula Grill on Kaanapali Beach in Maui (this beer is brewed exclusively for Hula Grill / Barefoot Bar - though I also saw it on draft at the MBC Brewpub). The pour is clear golden with a bit of a white head. The aroma is a touch of honey, sweet malt and a touch of dry earthiness. The taste is pretty sweet, the honey (not cloying, just big natural honey) and the sweetness of the malt join forces to become the dominant flavor. The earthy hops are present in the back, though are a flat and bitter. The palate is light to medium bodied, fairly low carbonation level, and a dry earthy finish. The honey is present, and moves this beer out of my personal taste preference.
