Cloudy brown with no foam to speak of. Brown sugar and plum aromas lead into a raisin and vinous body. Alcohol presence detracts from the flavor. Finish is not noteworthy either.

Reminds me of a Westmalle Dubbel, but with more hops. Slightly sweet with bitter aftertaste.

On tap at the Brewpub. Pours out a ruby hued brown color with a thin white head. Aroma is earthy with some notes of fruit and spice. There is an initial taste of apple with some cinamon and nutmeg. Finishes strong with alcohol. Very solid beer.

Coca Cola brown with limited beige spotting, not a looker really - just scrapes a 3!
Nose is dark malt, toffee, light booze fumes, spice, aniseed, vanilla, touch of yeast, liqourice.
Taste comprises toffee, dark fruit skins, spice, vanill essence, light booze, fruit cake.
Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
So so Belgian offering, ticks the style boxes but far from excels!

Growler pours clear amber with a tan head of foam. The mild aroma has prunes and raisins and faint spicy yeasty notes. The taste is prune-e and raisin-y and fairly bold with peppery notes with some floral in the background. The black pepper corn and floral mix is interesting and gets kind of nutmeg like and dry into the finish.

Dark red pour, tan head. Spicy and Belgian yeasty nose with a nice strong spice flavor. A damn good Belgian dark ale.

At 2012 Avery Strong Ale Fest. Clear dark amber with a thin light khaki head. Malty caramel aroma with an unfortunate touch of cardboard. Taste is roasted caramel, dusty earthy malts, toast, and some dusty hoppiness. Not very good.

(draught) cloudy deep ruby-brown with creamy tan head. Nose of black cherry juice, cream, raisin, wet cardboard, port, Belgian yeast and star anise. Taste is more toasty than I’d imagine, cherries, fairly sweet, paper pulp, cream, raisin and dates with some spice elements. Creamy body and mild alcohol kick. Better as it warms.

Draft. Deep amber with a crewam head. Alcohol, sweet fruits, rich malts, and sherry? Nice on the palate, flavors are caramel, dried fruits, faint alcohol finish.
