COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ale was developed in Burton, England, as a "Super-Premium" hoppy pale ale around 1800. The extra strength in alcohol and hops helped preserve the beer on its long export journeys to India and beyond. The style developed a following worldwide. Its flavor begins with a smooth, malty creaminess followed with a big burst of dry-hop flavor from English Kent Golding Hops. It then finishes with a lingering yet pleasant bitterness.

Big Swell IPA is a fresh handcrafted India Pale Ale brewed with huge amounts of American hops and malted barley...dry hopped to perfection!

Pours clear amber with soft, persistent carbonation; typical aroma of pine, tropical fruit with a barbecued banana note. Deep, lasting, drying bitterness; orange peel on the finish. Fresh, well balanced ipa

Can, pours light to mid orange, average white head that settles to a covering. Aroma is slightly acrid, not entirely unpleasant but definitely not the greatest smell from an American IPA. Pineapple, mango, resinous pine coming through. Palette is light, pleasant, carbonation not too much, sugar sweetness, then grapefruit juice, citrus, mango. Finishes with a mild bitterness, dry. A very pleasant, drinkable IPA, more quaffable than a lot of comparable IPA’s, which is refreshing if you’re not after a total hop-bomb.

Can. Poured a medium-yellow color with a slightly foamy white head. Aroma is sweet fruits, a touch of floral and citrus hops in there. Nice balance, not overly dry or overly hopped - very middle of the road (but quite enjoyable!).

Nice vibrant orange color. Good hoppy pine aroma with a big citrus flavor. Finishes with a balanced sweetness and a nice bitter punch. A great beer to sip while watching the sunset.

Can from The Perfect Pour, Elkridge, MD. Nice vibrant pour of clear orange and brimming carbonation. Large bubbles, Jack. Nose was fragrant and blended bright hops with a sweet confectionary quality. Nice and lively mouthfeel, a hint of a dry finish. But while this is a solid IPA, to me there was something just a bit jarring about the combination of intensely leafy hops and the sweet candied qualities that verged on Creamsicle.

A surprise find in Shibuya today! Slightly hazy orange colored beer with a rocky beige head. A hoppy citrus, grass & pine tar aroma as well as the sweetness of malt. Sweet malts up front with treacle and a mild grassy bitter finish. A bit over the top at 6.8%, closer to 2xIPA but not quite there.
