COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ale was developed in Burton, England, as a "Super-Premium" hoppy pale ale around 1800. The extra strength in alcohol and hops helped preserve the beer on its long export journeys to India and beyond. The style developed a following worldwide. Its flavor begins with a smooth, malty creaminess followed with a big burst of dry-hop flavor from English Kent Golding Hops. It then finishes with a lingering yet pleasant bitterness.

Big Swell IPA is a fresh handcrafted India Pale Ale brewed with huge amounts of American hops and malted barley...dry hopped to perfection!

Bottle sample @ RBBWG 2016, thanks Tim.

Can at RBBWG 2016 in Antwerpen. Clear, golden yellow with a white head. Fruity-grassy aroma of mango, passion fruit and some pine. Sweetish, fruity-grassy taste of lemon, mango and passion fruit, followed by a short, slightly bitter, grassy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Good!

On tap to a pint. Amber honey in the glass. Nose is hoppy. Tart dry hop up front, and the hop keeps going. It beats out the malt bill and stays on top through the end. Balance is off just a bit. Left with an empty dry tongue. Straight IPA.

Can thanks to Sarah! Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a nice light citrus note with some grass and a grain backbone. Flavor has more of a citrus bite with a bit of grass and a grain backbone.

Aroma from the can was like English malt with some earthy and floral hops, after the pour, though, it turned more towards dusty, dry carpet backing. Taste: each mouthful brings different aspects, but grapefruit and orange are constant. Also appearing: lime, toast, caramel, bread, toast, spearmint, salt, pepper, rye. Mouthfeel begins medium, finishes light, dry and slightly metallic. Very nice

From can. Pours hazy amber with an off white head. Aroma of corn and butter, stale hops, old cellar. Taste is corn, butter, stale, caramel, just horrible. Damn...
