COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ale was developed in Burton, England, as a "Super-Premium" hoppy pale ale around 1800. The extra strength in alcohol and hops helped preserve the beer on its long export journeys to India and beyond. The style developed a following worldwide. Its flavor begins with a smooth, malty creaminess followed with a big burst of dry-hop flavor from English Kent Golding Hops. It then finishes with a lingering yet pleasant bitterness.

Big Swell IPA is a fresh handcrafted India Pale Ale brewed with huge amounts of American hops and malted barley...dry hopped to perfection!

Shared 355 ml can at Cardinal. Fingerthick rocky head covers a clear golden body. Mildly hoppy aroma, spruce and light malts present. Sweet, heavy pine bitter and light acidic flavors. Full bodied and smooth to drink. Long bitter finish with a dry tongue.

Pours a hazy yellow with a big pillowy head. Slight tropical/hoppy aroma, but really not much. First sip gets a lot of fruity hop oils from the head. All around generic IPA that definitely seems brewed to drink on a sunny beach.

Heavy on the bitter. I’m amazed that nobody made the connection to skunkweed - it reeks of it. maybe it’s just me. Maybe Bev-Mo stored it wrong. Not as balanced as, say Wasatch Pale Ale on draft. Definitely has hoppy down.

Can @ Olutravintola Kukko. Hazy orangeish yellow beer with white head. Delicious hoppy aroma. Dry taste is also bittery hoppy. Well balanced. Nice to have Hawaian beers here near the Artic Circle.

35,5 cl can @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, canned on 13.10.2011
Aroma is typical to an American IPA: sweet with exotic fruits and some resin. Flavour is sweet with exotic fruits, some resin and hints of vanilla. Creamy and somewhat foamy palate. Rather typical American IPA.

(Can, 0.355 l - canned 20111013, at Maltainen Riekko, 20120314) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had citrciness, peach, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, hops, malts, bisquit, toasted bread and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, hoppy and bitter. Based on the aroma I was expecting a hoppier flavours but unfortunately that was not the case.

Lata. Giklden nice colour, big white ehad. Pleasant hoppy piney fruit aroma. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet and bit "old" like hoppy with caramel, pine, some citrus and a good medium bitterness.

0.355l can at Tilt, Oslo. Pours golden with a white head. Fruity and hoppy aroma with pine, citrus, tropical fruits, caramel and spices. Slightly bitter and very pleasant. Dry finish. Not as hoppy and bitter as other American IPAs but quite refreshing and easy to drink.
