COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ale was developed in Burton, England, as a "Super-Premium" hoppy pale ale around 1800. The extra strength in alcohol and hops helped preserve the beer on its long export journeys to India and beyond. The style developed a following worldwide. Its flavor begins with a smooth, malty creaminess followed with a big burst of dry-hop flavor from English Kent Golding Hops. It then finishes with a lingering yet pleasant bitterness.

Big Swell IPA is a fresh handcrafted India Pale Ale brewed with huge amounts of American hops and malted barley...dry hopped to perfection!

It is a big swell in deed. Hops galore boys! Bursting with flavor, this is one fine IPA. I had both citrus and pineapple come my way, as well as pine and resin. Ear tingling goodness.

Pours a bright medium orange with a two finger off white head which lingers forever and fades to excellent lacing. Aroma is of citrus, tropical fruits (passion fruit and mango), caramel, pine, and sweet malts. Taste is similar to the aroma but is a bit more robust. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a moderately bitter, semi dry, medium-long finish. Overall, a nice, juicy, refreshing IPA that is tastes like what a beer would taste like in a dream set in Hawaii.

Can from Kris Wines, London. Appearance is a hazy golden orange with a dense white head. Aroma is of tropical fruits, pine and some mango. Taste is bitter, tropical fruits and a creamy smooth finish with more bitterness lingering. Delicious.

One of the best canned IPA’s that I’ve ever had. Hop characteristics were nice but not overpowering, and it went down smooth.

Can from State line Liquors. Pours golden and cloudy with a half inch of white foam. Leaves lacing in the glass. Has some solid citrus notes on the nose. Fairly drinkable could have been more bitter on the tongue. Finishes clean.

Can. Pours a clear copper color with a moderate white head. Nose is hop forward, with some floral and slight resin notes to it. Taste is a little sweet with some toasting elements to it. A little weird for the style, but still interesting.

Aroma is a lot of peaches, mango and citrus. The taste is similar. Not that bitter actually.

Pours a nice amber color with white head. Lots of citrus on this, grapefruit is predominant; follows onto the palate. Finishes with just a slight amount of caramel malt.
