India Pale Ale was developed in Burton, England, as a "Super-Premium" hoppy pale ale around 1800. The extra strength in alcohol and hops helped preserve the beer on its long export journeys to India and beyond. The style developed a following worldwide. Its flavor begins with a smooth, malty creaminess followed with a big burst of dry-hop flavor from English Kent Golding Hops. It then finishes with a lingering yet pleasant bitterness.

Big Swell IPA is a fresh handcrafted India Pale Ale brewed with huge amounts of American hops and malted barley...dry hopped to perfection!

12oz can picked up a 6er today at the BevMo on Blackston Ave. in Fresno. This stuff rocks very easy drinking IPA. The taste is very tart and somewhat dry on the aftertaste. Has a very powerful aroma of hops and pine. The beer is somewhat sweet so more than a few of these would be tough to drink. Good solid beer, recommended.

12oz can. I love canned beers. Pours a hazy red color with a huge off-white head. Aroma is a blast of fresh hops. Mango, pineapple and an assortment of other tropical fruits. Orange peel. Very resinous. This has one of the nicer aromas of any regular IPAs I have smelled recently. Flavor is very fruity, citrusy and sweet with little to no malt background. Bitterness is very low, to a fault. As good as the aroma is the flavor is lacking malt balance and bitterness. There is nothing to hold up the nice hop flavors. A great aroma with a disappointing flavor.

Can. Pours with a largish, tight, creamy, off-white head with good lacing. Hazy, orange body. Aroma of grrapefruit, appricot, and sugar, nearly all hops. Taste is some malty sweetness followed by exotic fruits (lychee nut for sure) and more light hops. Mouthfeel is smooth and water like, with light carbonation. Very good.

12 oz can. Clear earthy orange brown with a creamy ivory head. Nose is spruce, tangerine and mango. Juicy with sharp carb; fresh and lively but plenty to chew on. Taste is grilled pineapple, caramel and lemon zest with a soft doughy finish. Delicious. I could drink this all the time.

A very fresh tasting ipa, both in aroma and taste. I wish I could just go to my local store to get it. :(

12oz can from hophead22...... pours a medium apple cider brown and frothy white head.... aroma of assertive sweet tropical fruits and to a lesser extent grapefruit..... nice balance of malts and somewhat generic fruity hops. some lasting touch of bitterness that lingers on the tongue but it is very subtle. mouthfeel lacks body and is a little thin....not bad though.

12 oz. can from the Liars’ Club - Pours a hazy amber color with a large off white head. Thick lacing. Aroma is pine and floral hops and fruity esters. Flavor is lightly sweetened malt, esters and a nice amount of hops. Medium body. No astringent aftertaste. Lively mouthfeel. A good beer.

Can. Strong orange-pineapple hops aroma with a hint of malt. Amber color with large white fluffy head. Smooth orange-pineapple hops and malt flavor - bitter bite of hops in the finish with a malty finish. Nicely smooth. An excellent IPA.
