COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ale was developed in Burton, England, as a "Super-Premium" hoppy pale ale around 1800. The extra strength in alcohol and hops helped preserve the beer on its long export journeys to India and beyond. The style developed a following worldwide. Its flavor begins with a smooth, malty creaminess followed with a big burst of dry-hop flavor from English Kent Golding Hops. It then finishes with a lingering yet pleasant bitterness.

Big Swell IPA is a fresh handcrafted India Pale Ale brewed with huge amounts of American hops and malted barley...dry hopped to perfection!

Can poured a hazy dark copper with a large lasting ivory head and leaving behind lots of lace. Aromas of carmel, pine, earthiness and light citrus. Palate was medium bodied smooth and slightly dry. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, light pine and hints of grapefruit and orange with a smooth lingering bittert finish.

A nicely balanced fruity IPA. Not overly bitter. It poured hazy gold and had notes of pineapple and orange with a little caramel malt. Pretty mild, but well balanced and drinkable.

Can thanks to AlohaC. EKG and english? wtf? This was a pretty big american hop bomb I thought. Pours light amber, orangey with a thin lasting tight white head. Tons of resin and pine with lots of grapefruuit, citrus and lemongrass. Big AA american hops, columbus, amarillo and maybe some simcoe or summit. Really nice bitter tacky finish. Good Cohumulone harshness.

Poured a hazy amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, floral hops, light skunk, lemongrass, and a bit of toffee. Taste was rare hops, light caramel, pine, citrus fruits, grapefruit, and a lingering bitter finish.

Thanks to my little brother for the can. Cloudy orange amber color. Smell of malt, hops, pine, citrus, candy raisins, dried apricots and caramel. Tastes the same and very enjoyable. Wow! I could have this all the time. Wonderful IPA.

Thanks to Capa for this. Pours an orangish-amber color with an off-white head. Huge grapefruit aroma right after opening the can. Aroma is of citrus and pine hops, and some caramel malts. Lots of the pine and citrus hops on the flavor blended well against the caramel malts. Very delicious and it even came from a can.

I debated buying a CAN of this for a good five minutes, decided to give it a try. Pours a nice looking hazy orange with a medium, fluffy head. Aroma strikes me quick and strong. HOPS! Pine, citrus, grapefruit is heavy, some sweet malts in the back, as well. O man, the flavor does not dissapoint. Strong hop bite. Grapefruit, pine and the caramel malts return with a small appearance. Smooth, but with plenty of bite...if that makes sense. An excellent IPA, especially on this hot Tokyo afternoon. This beer may have cured my can reservation.

Help someone has just taken a sack of dry hops and put it over my head. I see, hear and feel nothing but EKG. I love it. The most defined hop aroma I have ever smelt on a beer. And people slam cans???? Very big hoppy mouth, with a malt backbone, but efforts seem to be in the aroma and not in the bitterness. Just kinda falls apart at the end from being the best IPA ever.

Can. Amber beer with a huge off-white head. Big grapefruit aroma with some pine and caramel. Grapefruit and pine flavor with big caramel backing - hops arent as flavorful or as bitter as in the aroma. Medium body. Lingering grapefruit with a bit of earthiness. Nice.
