3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can. Pours a light hazy orange with a thin layer of white head that reduces to a trace quickly. Not much for lacing. Smells of pineapple and mango in the nose. Tastes of the same with a hint of grass. Nice malt balance too. Very good brew.

A really well done brew. Pours a hazy yellow. Aromas of pungent tropical fruit and citrus. Hoppy and vegetal flavours with some citrus rind in there too.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Hawaiian IPA from an elaborately adorned craft beer can which makes me dream of a tropical island. Hazy, orangey, ’old gold’ coloured beer with strings of bubbles here and there, supporting a medium thick and creamy, stable, delicately lacing, egg-white head. Strong hops aroma jumping to the nose when opening the can... I get a strong piney component of cedar needles or pine resin, along with hemp, yellow grapefruit, toasted bread, papaja, unprocessed cigarette tobacco, oregano, dried jalapeno peppers, apricot. Clean and crisp onset, fruity but already at this stage more so from hops than from esters, tangelo, dried apricot, mango, hops manifesting themselves from the start, bittering already with a salty edge, minerally carbo but not overcarbonated, smooth and supple, lightly caramelly malt body in the middle, only to support an ever-increasing hop character which ends in an apotheosis of piney, resiny, grapefruity, peppery bitterness, both very aromatic (retronasally) and very ’deep’, lasting for a long time and drying the root of the tongue, but allowing a bit of the juicy caramelly malts to seep through. Very fragrant, yet uncompromising, throat-drying, spicy, almost abrasively hoppy IPA, showing much more character than I had expected. An IPA with balls. Love it!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Lovely tropical fruit aroma in a golden amber pour. Hop forward taste to start is perfectly balanced by the full fruity body and the sustained bitter finish. One of, if not the best, of the local (Hawaii) brews.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light golden yellow body, foamy off-white head, good retention, nice lacing, yellower and less amber than a lot of IPAs. Citrus hoppy aroma. Taste is slightly bitter, with a sweet malt balance. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can. Gold in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are classic American IPA with elements of white grapefruit, pale malt, and hints of pine and caramel. Well balanced in the mouth with a significant grapefruit and cut grass hop note set off by some mild resin and clean malt notes. Medium bodied with a solid amount of bitterness. Fresher smelling and tasting than expected, given the Manitoba Liquor Mart’s reputation of brining in products that are less than ideal in terms of age. Looking forward to trying this again at the source in a few months.

ENG: 355ml can from Liquor Mart in Winnipeg, poured into the tulip. Opalescent, orange color with medium, white head and some lacing. Aromas are pretty sweet, citrusy hops, caramel. Tastes sweety too, but balanced. Citrusy hoppy with slight malty background. Sweety-malty aftertaste. Medium carbonation, medium body. Overall greatly drinkable, refreshing IPA.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear orange with white fine pored long lasting foam. Bitter hoppy nose. The taste is bitter and too tart, but an extended amount of sweetness compensated for that. Light carbonation that could be a bit stronger. Tart and dry aftertaste.

Can. Cloudy orange-amber pour with a thick off-white head. A tasty and balanced IPA, with a good bitterness and a combination of zesty citrus and juicy tropical fruit. Lots of flavour, some sweetness but finishes bitter and dry. Nice.
