India Pale Ale was developed in Burton, England, as a "Super-Premium" hoppy pale ale around 1800. The extra strength in alcohol and hops helped preserve the beer on its long export journeys to India and beyond. The style developed a following worldwide. Its flavor begins with a smooth, malty creaminess followed with a big burst of dry-hop flavor from English Kent Golding Hops. It then finishes with a lingering yet pleasant bitterness.

Big Swell IPA is a fresh handcrafted India Pale Ale brewed with huge amounts of American hops and malted barley...dry hopped to perfection!

Clear orangey golden colour with small, frothy, white head. Moderately sweetish fruity and hoppy aroma, resin, peach, mandarin, pine. Taste is moderately sweet fruity, resin, mango, accompanying dry to bitter, citrussy hop note, crisp bitter hoppy finish. Proper lively to fizzy carbonatio

Couleur du cuivre avec une grande robe beige. L?arôme de pamplemousse et du l’herbe avec un peu de malt. En bouche il y a plein d?houblon bien équilibré avec le malt. Bonne mais ce n?est pas spectaculaire.

I was surprised by the big taste of this offshore IPA. The label says it is big, holy, bold, smooth and it believe it lives up to it promises. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good enough that I want to rate it. Actually has some hops that are bold. I was having some less than beers and this is nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours unfiltered cloudy orange. Good head. Strong aroma of grapefruit and other tropicals. Nose is sweet, caramel malty. Finish is super bitter and acidic with nice light semi-oily mouthfeel. Flavor sticks. Great blend. Great IPA!

Completely yummy. Pours a bright golden orange with a finger of dense white head. The aroma bursts with fresh tropical fruits including pineapple, grapefruit, mango and papaya. Crisp and clean with light caramel malts. Bitter on the finish with moderate resins and a sticky astringent mouthfeel. Overall, a good IPA!

Can, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours a golden color with a decent head and some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is pleasant, a touch "catty" but hoppy, not overly sweet or grainy.

The flavor offers some nice leafy and herbal hoppiness with a mild fruit character. It’s lightly sweet and certainly on the maltier side of IPA. The bitterness is on the low to medium end but lingers in a pleasant way.

Fine enough.

Can. The look is clear, golden in color, off white head. The smell is grainy, hops, pine, fruit, grass, ok. The taste is bitter, resin, hops, grass, and ok.
