2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Keykeg at the Euston Tap, London. Not a bad helles lager but totally and utterly uninspiring, certainly for an import price. We’re talking a slight malt sweetness with a hint of citrus sharpness on the nose, with definite sweetness on the palate all through tasting. It’s not an unpleasant beer but there are so many better ones out there I’d avoid it unless you’re on some mad box-ticking adventure. Blah.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can. Sunny yellow in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of soft pilsner malt, along with a bit of lemon and mild herbal hop. Flavors are typical Helles with elements of semi-sweet pilsner malt, whote flour, minerals, and a spritz of lemon. Medium bodied with a clean finish. Uncomplicated and refreshing.

3.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear medium yellow with a white thin head that leaves little spot lacing. Nose is fiant grain. Body is medium thin. Taste is a sweet malt with a touch of malt (?) other than pilsner. Maybe slight Bienna. Probably not, it’s just my inexperience. Slight bitterness at the end. 12 oz can The can is the Sam Adams $1 million can. Keep the cans coming!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
355ml can from Club de Cervezas. Pours an unfiltered hazy yellow color with a small white head that diminishes quickly and laces small. Soft malty and hoppy aroma, well-balanced with notes of flowers, grains, baked bread, biscuit, cardboard and hay. Problem is that it’s very subdued, restrained. Not bad but too shy! Taste is mostly neutral with bready, grainy sweetness and scarce to no bitterness. Flavors of grain, bread, pumpkin and even sweet potato. A bit watery. Timid. Relatively clean, crisp taste. Medium carbonation. Lacks distinctive character by having either a stronger, heavier malty profile or greener hops. Overall an OK summer refreshment but nothing to write home about.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can at home. Aroma is grainy malt, straw, hint of fruits, light hoppy. A touch of honey. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is almost medium. I found it a bit on the sweet side. Simple but decent grainy Lager, it gets the job done.

0.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Dirty gold brew with small fast fading head. Smells of old green grapes and taste is lacking as well. At almost $11 a six pack was expecting something better than this crap. What a major disappointment and really upset that there are 5 more sitting in the fridge. Next time I get something from this brewery it will be sampler singles.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
355ml Can from Good Spirits Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£2.80):
Very light & enjoyable, coming through fresh & well-balanced with a clean & crisp feel. It went down easy with good carbonation & nice grassy hops & a floral taste with some lemon, biscuit & pale malts that worked very well together & made the beer.
