On draft at the brewpub:
A very dark beer with barely a glimmer of light around the edges. Big beige head that sticks with you to the bottom. Lightly smoked aromas but noting overpowering here. Rich and sweet in the mouth with light chocolate and dark but easy malts. Very roasty, You can understand where they found the name for this one.
The texture is light and smooth. Very pleasant and well judged.
Not their best stout (that title is reserved for the ’Milk of Amnesia’ in my opinion) but nevertheless an impressive feat.
