COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

12oz can. Poured a dark black color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of coconuts, chocolate, woody, and some vanilla. Tastes of coconuts, chocolate, toasted malts, and finishes with light coffee. I’m not much of a coconut fan, but I was into this aroma.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2008 10-9-07 can. Nice rich black pour with short lived head. Amazing warm oatmeal smell (surprisingly no real smell of coconut at first). Great sweet taste with a creamy mouthfeel that I can’t even begin to describe. Perfect carbonation and texture. Ideal palate! The only coconut I really got in this was in the finish and perhaps that is why I was so pleasantly surprised by this brew. Two thumbs up - I wish it were easier to get.

Thanks to dickinsonbeer for bringing this goodie to egajdzis’ pre-Kennett party the night before the event... Appears a a dark brown with a small tan head that fades into a hearty collar. Spotty lacing is left around the glass. Smell is of nuts, caramel, cream, coconut, wood, and sweet cocoa. Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a decent, smooth mix going on with nothing overpowering the brew. The coconut is subtle and enjoyable. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, sweet up front, robust, and nutty.

This stuff was fantastic. A great use of flavors that compliment each other well. Chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and coconut in aroma and flavor with moderate carbonation and a medium body.

33 cL can, thanks to BierKönig. Pours dark and thick, almost black and with a huge chocolate brown head. Aroma is sweet and roasted with a soft note of chocolate, I don’t sense the coconut at all. Mouthfeel is vevelt soft, creamy. Very smooth chocolate flavour with some liqourice bite towards the finish. The beer remains soft into the finish but softly allows some bitterness to shine through. I may sense some coconut beneath the chocolate and in the smoothness, but it is by no means easy to tell. Very nice brew.

Very good porter here. Creamy and rich. The coconut really only comes through in the finish. Gives it a unique creamy flavor. Good.

(Can 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Bierkönig. Pours black and opaque with a creamy, light brown head. Lightly burned malt aroma with an edge of coconut. Medium body with an edge of lightly sweet, burned malt and some discreet but absolutely present coconut accents that aren’t stickingly sweet but actually quite refreshing in a piquant manner. There’s a lightly bitter malt astringency in the finish. Quite interesting. 131007

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2008 HUGE thanks to fordest for this one. I was lucky to find somebody with one, and he came through big with his final one for me! Black pour, with a nicely lasting attractive brown head. Smell is a delicious sweet roasty creaminess at first reminding me of a good oatmeal stout. As it opens I think I can detect a tiny hint of coconut in the nose, and it comes off just a hint plasticy for a while, but not offensively so. Taste...Exceptionally smooth, creamy, slightly sweet and roasted with a noticeable, and perfectly highlighted toasted coconut flake flavor in the finish. Very nice! Full bodied, slightly thick, flavorful, and all around a very enjoyable beer that I wish I could get more readily... Just what I hoped it’d be, and easily one of my favorites. Worth getting if you have the chance!

Can from AlohaC. Thanks Christian! Pours almost black with some amber highlights on the edges and a lasting foamy beige head. Aroma is toasted malts, toasted coconuts, vanilla, and lots of chocolate. More stringy coconut, vanilla and chocolate, moderatly sweet, and a very smooth finish. This was a great unique porter. The coconut doesnt overpower like I thought it would.

Poured a dark brown red color with a medium sized, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, light cocoa, faint coconut, and nuts. Taste of a standard porter, roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, and maybe coconut, though it could have just been the power of suggestion.
