Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

Normally Iíd avoid a beer with coconut added, but this works. Pours black with small tan head and lacing. Tastes of chocolate coffee, símores. Robust toasty malt to balance the sweetness. Great with dessert, or as dessert. A delicious favorite.

Poured from the can, into a pint glass. Appears black, medium tan colored head. Aromas of powdered chocolate mix, roasted nut, faint coconut and a slight spice. Taste is as expected. Notes of chocolate and roast mimic the nose...and the coconut remains light on the palate. Medium-low body on this doesnít allow the flavors to resonate very long. Finishes rather abrupt for a porter, but provides a final bittering dose of coffee/hops. Solid brew. Interesting take on the style for sure.

Light coconut and some roast here makes for a nice well rounded package. Idea works well here. Pours dark brown/black with decent initial head and lacing. Bitter finish with some caramel and chocolate sweetness. Can.

Boring on the nose. Pours like a black wine. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate and toasted coconut. Bit too watery and bland. Nice enough

This beer tastes so good cold. Not too sweet. Just the right amount of coconut.

Generally I try to rate a beer within itís style, even if iím not a fan. Unfortunately for this beer, I had it in a flight of other coconut/porters/stouts and it stood no chance of a decent rating. The aroma is mostly booze with a hint of roasted malt. The flavor is similar with the roasted malts and coconut barely discernable over the burn. Not my deal

On tap at the Brewpub. Poured a foamy tan head fully diminishing to little lace. Moderate roasty aromas. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish of short duration. Tastes are heavy roasted malts, lightly toasted coconut, dark chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, and vanilla. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, and light carbonation.
