Poured from a can. Humongous amount of light tan head. Very dark beer with hint of coconuts in the taste.

Can - Been wanting to try this one for awhile. Pours black with a thin bubbly tan head. Nose is burnt tar and roast, cinnamon, a bit of milkiness, and a little sharpness. Not smelling the coconut. Can’t really taste is right away, either, but once it warms it’s prominent. Otherwise there’s some charred roast and coconut on the finish. Pretty one-note. Thinnish and really carbonated. Dissapointed.

Pours a dark cola brown with a caramel color head. The head has nice retention. Nice looking beer. Aromas of medium roast malt and sorghum. Creamy moutfheel with a bit of a sting around the edges and back of the tongue. Flavors of medium roast malt, ripe fruit, smoke, and tin. The tin shows up more at the finish after the beer has settled. It’s nearly off putting.

Poured black, with a small beige lacing head. Dark chocolate, roasted nuts, molasses, clover honey and a hint of vanilla in the aroma. Roasty, sweet taste in a medium-light body and lively carbonation. Dark fruity aftertaste with a bit of ash to finish. Was hoping for a bit more dominant coconut, but overall pretty good.

Bottle. Pours black with a large light khaki head. Aroma is extremely metallic, a little vegetal with some hard to pinpoint sweetness. Toasted coconut really comes through in the taste with a strong roasted malt note. An unpleasant bitterness lingers throughout. Palate is a bit thinner than I'd like. Pretty disappointing. Salvaged only by the fact that I'm a sucker for toasted coconut.

Dark brown colour with golden bubbly head. Aroma is toasty, roasty, just a hint of coconut, some citrus too. Nice. Taste is similar, lots if toastiness, chocolate, some coconut in the finish. Bit of sweetness further down. Nice. Smooth.

Can. Dark brown pour with tan head. Nose is toasted coconut, heavy roast, earth. Flavor is earthy, strong dirt, faint coconut, strong roast. Full mouthfeel.

Poured untransparent black with a small creamy tan head. Aroma opens slowly, after a while the coconut arrives with a really interesting toasted character. with some caramel, light roasted grains, tobacco. Fine mouthfeel with the toasted coconut again. This character dominates the flavor with some roasted grains, molasses and malt in the background. Really good and excitring one!

Canned 27/03/13. A black beer with a little grey head. A dry roasty porter. You really have to search for any coconut in this which wasn’t the case with the Banks’s brewed version a couple of years ago. There is a little huskiness if you delve deep enough bit otherwise it’s a capable roasty and slightly fruity porter. It’s OK only.
