Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

355ml can from Cornelius, Edinburgh (5.7% abv on the can) - very dark brown near black, thin to non-existent tan head, roasted malty and coconut aroma, no lacing, coconut, chocolate and coffee flavour, dry, bitter coffee aftertaste

(can, many thanks to jonas!) pours a hazy deep brown colour with a frothy brown head. aroma of espresso, vanilla and rose water, with a hint of brown sugar, lots of toasted malts, some floral hops and sugar icing. flavour is mostly the same, cold coffee, milk chocolate and brown sugar, with more vanilla, some light earth and a semi-dry finish. medium-bodied with lively carbonation.

Can in the Canalhouse, Nottingham. Pours pitch black with a fairly brief tan head. The flavours are roasty with the inevitable coconut, but not so prominent as to be overpowering. Roast notes are more burnt and I can’t help feeling this would be even better on a chocolatey malt base.

Can poured a black hue w/ a huge foamy tan head fully diminishing. Moderate roasty aromas. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish of short duration. Tastes are heavy roasted malts, lightly toasted coconut, dark chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, and vanilla. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, and light carbonation.

12 oz can. Pours black with a red tinge and moderate light tan head that settles quickly. Aromas of coffee and coconut flakes. Flavors of roasted malts, toasted coconut (as advertised) and weak black coffee. Somewhat acidic and watery. A dark beer for a hot day.

Can into English pint glass, deep dark brown with dark tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, light coffee and the slighted coconut note. Taste is the aroma adding some nuttiness, toasted coconut and earthy hop bitterness. Medium body, low carbonation, creamy, soft with roasty slight coconut finish. Normally not a coconut fan but it works very well in this porter. Very tasty.
