3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can, opaque black body, vigorous pour foamed hugely, but that settled quickly to just a ring. Aroma roasty with dark fruit, nuts, coconut, coffee. Taste is plum and roast barley, cola like, nutty and coffee finish. Overall slightly sweet. Palate is light, carbonation is a bit heavy for style. If I had to sum up, I’d say Porter cola.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance: opaque black color with brown head, really nice head when poured, you can also smell the aroma of the beer when poured, really dense head and nice lacing left on glass, nice dome of head
Aroma: chocolate and coffee, very aromatic, sweetness to smell
Taste: coffee and chocolate, slight coconut flavor at end
Palette: slight bitterness at end, some tannins left on tongue, light to medium body
Overall: this is a great porter that is very flavorful

Normally I’d avoid a beer with coconut added, but this works. Pours black with small tan head and lacing. Tastes of chocolate coffee, s’mores. Robust toasty malt to balance the sweetness. Great with dessert, or as dessert. A delicious favorite.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from the can, into a pint glass. Appears black, medium tan colored head. Aromas of powdered chocolate mix, roasted nut, faint coconut and a slight spice. Taste is as expected. Notes of chocolate and roast mimic the nose...and the coconut remains light on the palate. Medium-low body on this doesn’t allow the flavors to resonate very long. Finishes rather abrupt for a porter, but provides a final bittering dose of coffee/hops. Solid brew. Interesting take on the style for sure.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light coconut and some roast here makes for a nice well rounded package. Idea works well here. Pours dark brown/black with decent initial head and lacing. Bitter finish with some caramel and chocolate sweetness. Can.

Boring on the nose. Pours like a black wine. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate and toasted coconut. Bit too watery and bland. Nice enough

This beer tastes so good cold. Not too sweet. Just the right amount of coconut.

Generally I try to rate a beer within it’s style, even if i’m not a fan. Unfortunately for this beer, I had it in a flight of other coconut/porters/stouts and it stood no chance of a decent rating. The aroma is mostly booze with a hint of roasted malt. The flavor is similar with the roasted malts and coconut barely discernable over the burn. Not my deal
