Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

12oz can from my Secret Santa. Thanks, Santa. Appealing dark pour, with some crisp carbonation and a modest head. Not much coconut in the aroma initially, but it is certainly there and the subtlety is appreciated. Base beer is strong, with modest roasted and chocolate malts blending into a very drinkable porter with a modest body. The toasted coconut is really nice, actually, and complements the porter well. I would like slightly strong roasted and bitter qualities, but that may just be my preference. Overall, very nice.

Beer has a good aroma where coconut can be detected. Flavor is very mild with a bit of sweetness, roasted grains and a slight amount of cocount present. Beer is very easy drinking and enjoyable.

Thanks to footbalm for this brew. Dark brown pour with a smooth beige head. Big sweet coconut flavor adds a nice finish. Malts give a soft roasted chocolate character that paired nicely with the coconut flavor with a sort of vanilla flavor in the finish. I felt like the coconut flavor was a bit overly sweet at times, but in the end this was a really nice porter.

Can shared by footbalm. A very interesting beer. Pours a dark brown color with a medium light brown head. A very intriguing aroma, lots of coconut for sure, light roasted notes, coffee and chocolates. The taste was very nice, and not surprisingly, the coconut really stood out, it was both milky and roasted. Also, some toasted malts, coffee and chocolates. A medium mouthfeel. I was really surprised by the uniqueness of this beer, very cool and tasty. Nice.

This can was a gift from a beer friend. Poured into pint glass this appears nearly black with 2 finger tan head that diminished rather quickly. Tastes of toasted malt, milky chocolate, coffee and very subtle toasted coconut. This tastes delicious! The coconut is a very subtle addition to an otherwise nice tasting stout. If you have apprehensions about ’flavored’ beers, you should give in and try this.

Can from Sparky27, drank at outside air temperature, as this is right out of a trade box. Nice. For some reason the whole box smelled like coconut when I opened it, and I couldn’t resist pouring myself a nice cold can of this. Mmmm.

This beer pours a dark, light bodied black, with a large brown head. The aroma is a nutty, roasty base, with a definite coconut in the back that is purely refreshing. The flavor is quite similar, really, a solid porter underneath with an unmistakable coconut finish. This review is really boring but its true. Though one dimensional, this beer is plain delicious. Great stuff!

Good lord this is good. Super nice looking dark brown/amber color. Smells like coconut, tastes like German Chocolate Cake in a can. This stuff is so damn drinkable and tasty. Excellently crafted - the balance is remarkable - the coconut is not overwhelming and there is a fair amount of hops to keep you from forgetting that this is beer and not cake. The consistency is almost as if it was poured out of a nitro tap. I wouldn’t change a thing about this beer

From a 12 oz can this stuff was good. Poured dark brown with a fat brown head and sticky lacing. Big nose of burnt malts and chocolate and some coffee. Thick mouthfeel. Good flavors of roasted malts with some bitterness including the finish.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2009 can poured into a snifter has a dark chestnut brown color and a thin layer of frothy thick brown head. aroma has bakers chocolate, light toasted coconut, thick chewy malt, and faint underlying hops. chewy nose and a little nutty. mouth feel is medium thick with fine carbonation and good coating. flavor is loaded with malt, heavy chocolate, coffee notes, and more toasted coconut than anticipated. sweetness is enough to keep the bitterness in check and the finish is roasted sweetness with a long duration. really full and chewy bordering on milkshake with roast that just puts it over the top.

12 oz. can courtesy of a trade with alohaC. Pours just about black with a large, somewhat sudsy, tan head that faded to an incomplete film by the second sip and left partial lace. The aroma of this beer is just delicious with lots of coconut along with chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt and coffee. The flavor is very nice as well with coconut, chocolate, roasted malt and coffee all present. Mild bitterness at the finish. Smooth, silky mouthfeel, although the beer itself is just a tad thin. A bit of coconut in the aftertaste as well. Overall, this is a very enjoyable beer!
