COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

Can (in NZ). Plenty of dark chocolate on the nose - pass the Green & Blacks. Plenty of dark chocolate in the flavour as well, the coconut decides to wash over the taste buds later on in the swallow. Wasn’t sure what this would be like, but the chocolate and coconut are very clean on a good porter palate.

Can. Pour is very dark, effervescent, and dirty brown with a thin light brown head. Aroma is fruity, light chocolate, lightly malty, lightly sweet, and only a faint coconut aroma. Flavor is dark chocolate, sweet malt, distant coffee, and a very light toasted coconut flavor in the finish. Fairly light body, lots of bubbles, and less coconut than I was hoping for. However the flavor did greatly improve as the beer warmed. It got rounder, smoother, and the body got a little fuller. I had been waiting for this one for a long time. It did not disappoint me, but I was hoping for more coconut character.

2009 Can - Pours thin and dk brown with a massive tan head...aroma is just like almond joy, more cocoa than anything, with hints of the coconut hidden behing it, sweet malt and dark fruit...flavour is nowhere near as sweet as your lead to belive, dry roast, bitter cocoa, light coconut...turns a bit watery on the end with a lingering chocolate finish...decent....

Can shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear dark brown color with a large frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted chocolate malt and coconut aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy coconut sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good complex brew that met my expectations.

A very nice, sweet, mildly roasty porter. This beer pours a very dark brown, essentially motor oil black, with a tan head. The aroma shows off some great coconut notes that blend in surprisingly well. The malt is sweet with some good roast and works extremely well with the coconut. The beer isn’t really incredible, but it’s a lot better than I was expecting from a coconut porter, particularly the coconut part. Very nice porter, good coconut flavor.

You wouldn’t expect a beer out of a can to be so good. Lots of character. Low clingy head and a dark brown color. Smokey roasted nose. Chocolate notes after a thin, sweet malt body. Interesting overall and well balanced.

Can... Poured deep, dark brown with a beige head. Roasted, cocoa malt aroma. Rich and malty, a strong mocha/coffee flavor with a sweet, creamy quality. The coconut crept in and highlighted the finish.

Out of a can. Smells like coconut body oil and chocolate water. Taste is coconut, chocolate, and hops, I feel like I’m on the beach in hawaii. The consistency is wonderful, very refreshing for a porter. It is 99 degrees where I’m at and as soon as this is gone I’m drinking another one, it is just perfect for a hot day.

12 oz. can, "021109" on bottom. Daknole traded me a couple of Hawaiian brands, but this one actually made in Hawaii gets my first Aloha tick. Pours nearly black under a thick brown head. Smells of milk chocolate and just a whiff of cocoanut. That gives it a nice clean smell, no overly roasted malt. Taste shows some lighter roast malts, slight milk stout character, and a little sourness. I can’t quite pick out cocoanut in the taste; it’s not a favorite of mine, but I think it does add to its milky smoothness. Can carbonation gives it a bit of gassy finish, I’d like to try this on tap if and when I ever to go the islands.

0.33 l can at Stockholm Beer Festival 2009. Black color. Sweet mildly roasty aroma with perfumed coconut. Sweet roasty flavor with obvius coconut flavor and hint of charcoal. Grassy coconut lasts long in the finish. Small sample was very tasty, but I not sure I would like to drink this in bigger quantities.
