COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

Can, Honolulu. As my favorite beer in Hawaii as well as my favorite brewer, I am going to keep it short. I love this beer. It is so creamy I like to drink it with ice cream. I am going to do a better rating later, for right now, I just want to enjoy this wonderful, unique beer.

Can. Finally I get my hands on one! Pours a cola-like dark ruby with a one-finger tan head. Leaves little to no lacing. Nose is awesome! Toasted coconut flakes, pina colada, loads of milk chocolate candies, brown sugar, vanilla ice cream, Vermont maple syrup. Taste is coconut chocolate candies up front and then moves to Kona coffee. Palate is a letdown though- sort of like seltzer water. I guess I’m spoiled by Cigar City’s coconut brown ales.

Can. Pours dark coffee brown, with a medium khaki head, very fine lacing. Smells of espresso, chocolate, coconut, toffee and some floral hop notes. Medium bodied, smooth and velvety, with a crisp finish. Rich chocolate and coconut flavor, with some notes of plum and citrus. Well balanced.

12 oz. can on 8/12/09. Pours dark brown, light tan head. Little frother head that doesn’t last. Amazing dark toasted coconut aroma.with sweet caramel background, possibly touch of coffee. Very smooth, medium bodied. Light sweetness up front, then just the slightest bitter balance. Amazing chocolate and toasted coconut finish. A bit lively on the tongue, but great overall.

I must be due a bad beer soon, I seem to have nothing but good ’uns lately. The trend continues. This is a work of art. Subtle, woody notes blend with the obligatory chocolate, and the coconut is present only as a teasing flavour. I imagine the temptation in brewing a coconut porter would be to pile on the coconut. It has been resisted and the beer is all the better for it. Just delicious.

Excellent porter with twist of coconut. Pours a lovely dark brown with espresso foam. Chocolate and coconut tastes combine well.

Roasted aroma with coffee and chocolate. Some roasted coffee and chocolate flavors with only a hint of toasted coconut. It is dark brown in color with a disappearing tan head. An excellent all around porter.
