COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

Dark chestnut brown body, garnet-brown at edges. thin fluffy/foamy tall dark tan head. aroma is roasted malty sweetened toasted coconut flakes, sweet molasses, and toffee malt. flavor is more of the same - sweet roasted coconut flakes, caramel/toffee roasted malt, some chocolate malt, and then a little dryness of hops but not so much bitter. warming finish and some bubblegum. aftertaste is dryish/warming again. Thanks for this MarkChev!

Pours black with brown hues and small tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, toasted coconut, chocolate, coffee,, and caramel. Taste is roasted malts, coconut, milk chocolate, coffee, caramel, and mild spicy hops. Has a medium-full body with a semi creamy mouthfeel, and a roasty, slightly bitter, medium finish. Overall, a pretty tasty and interesting porter that makes good use of toasted coconut.

Can. I hate coconut, so I was not thrilled to try this. Nose had some roasting in there, but enough coconut was coming off of it that I was immediately turned off from it. Taste was much the same, with some bitterness and roasting, but too much coconut. My wife loved it, but I sure didn’t.

Aroma is malty but a bit flat. Appearance was a nice dark with a brownish head. Taste was malty and sweet with a little spice. Not too distinct coconut. Palate was smooth.

can at mondial de la bière, mtl. pours very dark brown, almost black, with a creamy compact medium dark beige head, excellent retention and strong lacing. plenty of chocolate and nice complex roasted components, hint of sweetness and vanilla, light smoke. soft carbonation, medium body - tad heavy for style, nice coffee finish. truly enjoyed that stuff.

Black. Aroma: Caramel, coffee, bread, milk chocolate and coconut. Taste: Nice bitter chocolate presence, caramel, coconut, coffee and slightly hoppy. Dry bitter coffee finish. Very nice porter, not extremely unusual or amazing, just incredibly solid.

Well, its pretty much black, with a light to medium brown head... But it leaves behind that lacing that turns a darker brown at the edges. It has a fresh, sweet aroma that’s coffee and roasted malt at its base, but decorated with some residual sweetness, likely from the coconut. It’s not obviously coconut, though. In the mouth, the coconut really comes through, but slowly, and adds a unique (not sweet) character gently to the heavily roasted malts that seem more like fresh coffee grounds than anything else. Coffee... Coconut. I can live with that. As thick and heavy as this beer sounds by its name, it’s really light bodied and slick, with a great, balanced finish. I love the grittiness of the coconut. It’s like I can taste the fibers.

Nose is sweet, malty honey notes with an underpinning coconut. Also some dark cocoa notes in there. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Flavour is more of the same - honey, chocolate, coconut and a gentle bitterness providing balance. Metallic notes in there from the tin detract - while I approve of cans for strong IPA style beers where the metal fits in the mix I don’t think it works here.

Pours with huge beige to brown foam, medium stamina, acceptable lacing. Even visually seem high carbonated. Color deep, dark ruby. Aroma - dominant roast, a bit creamy, a bit nutty. Taste - min sweet, a bit sour-sweet, mild bitter from roast, far away tones of herbs - this comes as herbal-spice mouthfeel. Below medium body, thick texture and very high carbonation for porter. Well done hopping but not out of flavor, mild dry finish. At later stages in aroma I felt a bit cardboard, some beans and pleasant alcohol. Overall - OK brew, but over-carbonated in my opinion.

A nice and smoky porter with just a hint of roasted coconut character. While I might have liked to have the coconut be more present, his would be a great beer even without that. Great clean porter bitterness with a brilliant mildly effervescent mouthfeel ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
