COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

[ Trade by Dunk ]. Clear dark black color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, coconut, dusty. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration. Coconut both in the aroma and flavor. Body is medium to full, texture is creamy - oily, carbonation is soft and smooth. [20090115]

33 cL can, thanks to BierKönig. Pours dark and thick, almost black and with a huge chocolate brown head. Aroma is sweet and roasted with a soft note of chocolate, I don’t sense the coconut at all. Mouthfeel is vevelt soft, creamy. Very smooth chocolate flavour with some liqourice bite towards the finish. The beer remains soft into the finish but softly allows some bitterness to shine through. I may sense some coconut beneath the chocolate and in the smoothness, but it is by no means easy to tell. Very nice brew.

Can. A brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt and coconut, as well as lighter notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with extreme strong notes of coconut as well as lighter notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry finish with notes of cocoa and coconuts. A very interesting combination.

(Can 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Bierkönig. Pours black and opaque with a creamy, light brown head. Lightly burned malt aroma with an edge of coconut. Medium body with an edge of lightly sweet, burned malt and some discreet but absolutely present coconut accents that aren’t stickingly sweet but actually quite refreshing in a piquant manner. There’s a lightly bitter malt astringency in the finish. Quite interesting. 131007

Canned (Thanks Bolagshataren!). Deep amber colour, not much head. Aroma is coffee, cocoa and some roasted malts. Flavour is roasted malts, some smoked wood, cocoa as well as mild notes of coffee. The coffee grows into the finish though. Aftertaste is a mix of coffee, roast and cocoa.

Canned, thanks Bolagshataren! Very black, small beige head. Non-surprising cocoa aroma. Sweet and very roasty, creamy and soft, near full bodied. Cocoa domintes coffee. Tarry bitter finish. Unusual, and quite interesting.

5th July 2008. Richer and thicker than most porters. The coconut is a light touch on the palate. Some toasted malt but also slighty creamy. No bitterness at all.

Draught at Elizabeth Station, Bellingham, WA
Black color, deep. It has a strong chocolate aroma, and some cardboard. Nice flavor of common chocolate, the mouthfeel seems semi dry, and luckily there is no evident coconut; mild roasted malts concur too. Correct bitterness.
Good Porter.
