Our Coconut Porter is a classic robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. It then finishes with flavors of toasted coconut and hoppy spice to balance the finish.

Hints of vanilla and roasted coffee. Black dark coffee color. Bitter on the front and sweet on the end. Very light mouthfeel. Not as much coconut as I expected. More bitter chocolate. Good with dessert.

Opaque black with thin but dense tan head. Medium full body with aggressively high carbonation.

Aroma: dark chocolae, carob, soy sauce, silage, black malt.

Taste: lots of dark malt, charred grain, chalky water, herbal hops. Very balanced.

No notable coconut character. Not a porter, a foreign extra stout or British imperial stout.

Poured from 12 oz can into pint glass. Appearance: pours a 3’+ tan frothy head that drops slowly with abundant lacing. Color is dark reddish brown. Aroma: dark roasted malt is dominate, but there is some coconut sweetness as well, along with pungent earthy hops. Mouthfeel: medium to heavy bodied and a bit oily with a dry, powdery finish. Flavor: coffee, cocoa, dark roasty malt, coconut is hidden towards the end of the taste, there is some lingering hop bitterness and slight alcohol warming in the throat. Overall: complex and delicious.

Can fromm World Beer Market (Sake Taniguchi). Roast malt nose, with dark chocolate, a bit of coconut, and some nutty notes. Dark brown color, nice tan head, some lace. Deep roasty initial, dark chocolate, bittering rises in mid palate. Cocoa and coconut in mid and final. Medium body. Nice stuff. Coconut is present but largely covered by the roast and bitterness.

Can from Tanakaya. Drank straight from the can. Big aromas of roasted coffee, bitter chocolate and toasted coconut. Taste is more of the same, with the coconut showing more as it warms. Medium body with a nice creamy mouthfeel. Nice dry roasty finish with some sourness to it. Very good porter.

pours cola brown with a thick light brown head. Aroma is toasted malt and slight vanilla. Creamy mouth feel with multi-layered taste. Definite toasted malt, slight coconut and dark chocolate, but then some coffee notes underneath. Pleasantly mild bitter finish. Good beer!

Can at home. Pours dark brown to black with two fingers of off white head. Aroma is roast and lots of coconut. Flavor follows and is slightly sweet. A bit more roasty than I expected. Coconut works, which it doesn’t always do in beer. But this one was good. Very smooth and creamy. Nice beer.
