WeeHeavySD (1564), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Apr 24, 2008 Can my pal Naven brought back from Hawaii. Thanks dave, shared with bikesandbeer. Pours dark blackish brown with a 1 finger tan/brown head. Nose is very coconut, ridiculously so. Taste is really interesting, coconut, chocolate, coffee, and all in a relatively light body. This is a pretty cool beer.
Crosling (1604), Loveland, Colorado, USA Jul 23, 2008 Can. Very nice appearance, with a dark brown color and well lasting foam. Nose doesn’t have a lot of character but shows light traces of banana, toasted coconut and dark malts. Flavor shows notes of roast, coconut, cocoa and coffee. Silky mouth feel does impressive. It’s a nice beer with good balance, but I was expecting more vibrant flavors and aromas. Would like to try again, but was expecting this to be a little better. hopscotch (4386), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jul 21, 2008 Can… Pours almost black with a small, creamy, beige head. The aroma is an intoxicating swirl of cocoa, coconut and coffee. Full-bodied and chewy with moderate carbonation. Rich, malty-sweet, caramel, coconut and milk chocolate. Herbal (black tea), chocolaty finish. Thanks to rogueone for providing the can! Ibrew2or3 (1613), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jul 19, 2008 Courtesy of tpd975. Pours deep amber with tan head. The aroma starts with notes of dark maltiness followed by some caramel and then a load of chocolate. No coconut noticed in the nose at all. The taste is full on coconut to go along with some roastiness and malty sweetness. Those notes are followed by chocolate notes and some nuttiness. msante79 (183), Illinois, USA Jul 18, 2008 Thanks for this brew from kegbear. My first craft beer out of a can. Pours dark brown with light fluffy tan head. Huge amount of coconut and suger on the nose. Aroma also has hints of malt and chocolat. Flavor smooth with malt, chocolate and coconut .Could be really special with some extra hops and little less sweetness as aftertaste is heavy with coconut and vanilla. The one thing I will always remember about this brew is how smooth and silky the mouthfeel is. The low IBU is nice as so many brewers and trying to make huge hopped up porter. Lucky to get my hands on this. dkachur (641), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jul 17, 2008 12 oz. can from my Secret Santa! Reddish brown pour with a medium head. Big chocolate aroma with less than assertive coconut notes. Same with the taste, though the chocolate is a little more on the bitter side. A little on the watery side.
