On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours with a clear golden hued body with voracious carbonation leading to a huge, fluffy white head with good lace and full retention. Aromas are big time tropical fruit, passion fruit, floral, citrus, bright tropical fruit, light dankness. Some resin and grass flavors as well. Sweet fruit. Light floral honey like notes. All hops. Flavors are tropical fruit like hops, papaya, some guava. Medium to medium strong bitterness, resin, low malt mild esters. Very lively bubbles, dry, crisp, lightly warming. Excellent!

Hoppy aroma, grassy along with a hint of fresh-cut grass. The flavor is supremely hoppy, sweet and spicy. No overtly bitter aftertaste for an IPA, which is impressive. Maui definitely played this one right.

Huge pine and resin character. Strong sharp hops with a nice floral component. Dry biscuity malt body. Very impressive drink, maybe a bit one dimensional but it does it hits the mark with an impressive hop lineup.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 7/6/12

Aroma: Nose is heavy hops, resin/pine, grapefruit, and other tropical fruits as well
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear golden color with a white head and average lace
Flavor: The taste has a nice West Coast-style hop bitter punch, with a lighter sweetness
Palate: The body of this one is medium-plus, with a somewhat sticky feel, and a rather dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought that this one was a really nice west coast style IPA. To put it simply: They done good here!

On tap at the brewpub. Very hop forward with some tropical fruit. Very tasty, and very San Diego. I like it.

From beerboxer’s growler. Pours orange amber with a short off-white head and a citrus aroma. There is a nice toffee flavor with a smooth bitterness transition culminating in a pronounced finish.
