A German-style wheat beer (ale). A special yeast is used which imparts fruit-like flavors (bananas, apricot) and spicy clove-like flavors; the yeast stays suspended in beer, making it traditionally cloudy. A brew pub favorite.

Draft. Hazy golden color, medium white head. Aroma of lightly spiced banana. Taste has clove, more banana, edge of bubblegum. Decent.

Draft at Maui Brewing in Kihei. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain/bread), with notes of banana and clove. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately moderately alcoholic. A surprisingly solid rendition; delightful banana-clove nose is authentic and not overbearing. Clean and balanced.

The six beers I had here all had a house character of a very smooth, creamy palate that works in some beers an not iin others. It works pretty well in this one. Good body and wheat character. refreshing.

Rated in Maui during my honeymoon! Hazy, light orange in color. Decent head with nice lacing and retention. Peppery banana aroma is rather light. Cloves and banana in flavor. Moderate-to-heavy carbonation balance works for this particular brew. Overall, slightly better than average hefe.
