COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Imperial Coconut Porter is a stronger version of robust porter spiced with all natural toasted coconut. It is black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head. It begins with a malty-toasted-coconut aroma followed by a rich, silky mouthfeel with tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and hints of coffee. TCHO cocoa nibs were blended with the toasted coconut during the maturation process to intensify the aroma of coconut and dark chocolate.

On tap @ Growler Guys - Portland. Just about black in color with a tan head. Smells kind of like an Almond Joy. Dark chocolate, some toasted coconut, and a mild nuttiness. Good sweetness as well as some bitter coffee and roasted malts. Plenty of chocolate and a nice chewy coconut flavor. A little more body than the regular version.

Pour on tap at Mayor of Old Town, thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of nice cocoa, roast, and coffee notes with a hint of lactose, some ash into a slight toasted coconut note, slight metal. Taste was a mix of cocoa, slight coconut, toast into some ashy, metallic note, slight roast and coffee, finishing fairly sweet, slightly dry. A slight improvement from the base, but still could be better.

Draft at elliott bay pizza. Pours black with a dense and creamy tan mousse on top. Lots of dense sheety lace coming down the sides of the glass. Big dark chocolate nose with lots of coffee notes. Thick creamy body, not quite sticky. Coffee, chocolate, coconut on the mid palate with a long dark roasty finish. Fantastic big beer.

On tap at the Draught House in Austin. The beer pours a dark brown to black color with a brown head. The aroma is very strong and is full of sweet, milk chocolate. I also get a little bit of coconut but the chocolate is what stands out. The flavor is more of the same. The chocolate overpowers all of the other flavors. Very sweet overall. The alcohol is well hidden. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice take on the regular Coconut Porter. Definitely one to try if you get a chance.

Somewhere between a 2 and 4oz draft pour at SAVOR 2015s Saturday night session. This one is very similar to their standard CoCoNut PorTeR. Poured a black-brown color with a medium sized light tan head. Aroma was malty, chocolate, tons of coconuts. Flavor was light shaved coconut, with dark malts, chocolates, coffee notes. Enjoyable, but Id probably just stick the the more sessionable of the two.
