3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours brown with a tan sheet on top. The nose is mostly toasted malts, some sweet cocoa powder, a bit of coffee and nuts. Flavor carried plenty of cola, come bread, a little raisin and cocoa. Nice flavor. Medium bodied with a fine carb giving the beer a nice, silky feel. Pretty decent beer IMO.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can:   Soft toasted malts, minor hops, some pale coffee and chocolate sweetness.   A very low hop profile.   Light to moderate body and mouthfeel.   A soft example, but clean, and easy to drink.   Perhaps a little too light?

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap at monkey pod in wailea Maui. Nose is smoke and brown sugar. Color is true for a brown and mouth feel is about the same - dead on. No real head though. Complex brown molasses and malt fullness. This goes very well with chicken wings overlooking the ocean.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a solid brown with a tan head and lacing. It has a nice aroma of nutty malt and some chocolate, and the flavor has a similar profile with a sweet finish over a medium body.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured out of the can. This is a ruddy, murky brown beer. Oily, beige head, not the prettiest, but it is just a brown ale. I just hate seeing broken, weird looking heads that seem like an afterthought. One of the more unique tasting browns I’ve had- tastes like toast, popcorn and root beer. FInishes kind of acidic and burnt. Not my favorite, not the worst. Tastes like a home brewer won a competition and got to brew on a professional system. Maui used to be all the rage- I feel like their slowly tanking into obscurity and mediocre beers.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can. Pours with a clear near cola hued body with a moderate sized off-white head with decent lace. Aromas are of brown sugar, chocolate, cola, tree bark, earthy and lightly citrusy-floral. Bready and deeper toasted biscuity malt characters (Briess Special Roast or an intense dark munich?). Low ester. Flavors are dry, toasty, nutty roasty. A touch of acidic flavor. Mild chocolate, earthy. Decent. Thinner body, fuller carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can from Bine & Vine. Pours brown with a transient tan head. Smells like a nutty chocolaty thing. Med body, or nearly. Flavor is greasy/nutty with some chocolate. Seems to finish a bit bitter thanks to the chocolate, but I suppose the hop has a little to do with that. If it’s brown you want, this would not be a mistake.
