Tap at Rocks&Brews, Paia, Maui.
Pours dark brown with a little red. Medium light beige head. Aroma is cyrup and sweet dark malts, very close to Finnish "kotikalja". Appearance is pretty thick and dense. Taste doesn’t quite meet the excpectations raised by the aroma and appearance. Palate is surprisingly thin and watery.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
appearance: dark brown with ruby highlights, thick light tan head shrinking to a soapy cap; generous lacing. aroma: fulsome nose of toffee, dark chocolate, espresso, roasted hazelnuts, and vanilla. taste: brown bread, toasted hazelnuts, caramel, toffee, milk chocolate, leather, vanilla, earth, grass, some coconut milk. finish: cream and smooth and toasty, with a lasting nutty, chocolate sweetness. notes: Man, this was a superb brown ale. It’s on the sweeter end, and is almost big enough to feel like a porter. Would drink this any time. Can from TW&M Alexandria, Virginia.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A very average brown. Pours a light burgundian amber with a sopay off white head. The aroma is a bit nutty with toffee and caramel malts. Light grassy and slightly citrus hops. Good balance with a medium body. The flavour profile is a bit bland overall with a mild bitterness.
