Pours brown with a medium tan head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma has light roastiness and dry leaves. Flavor follows suit...adds nutty notes and a bit of chocolate and some earthy hops. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with a dry roasty/dry leaves/earthy hoppy finish.

A good basic standard ale. Agree with the dark malty flavor as described. First choice--no but not a bad choice.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark brown, thin head. Has a strongly nutty character. Low bitterness, more tartness than I would like, though the nuttiness is good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
"Definitely not your standard brown. Doesn’t do anything different, just better. Subtle aromas of nuts, caramel and chocolate. Light hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Flavor is robust and subtle at the same time. Bittersweet finish."
