3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 4/20
A wonderful barnyard aroma with suggestions of citrus. Pours a hazy bright light yellow with rapidly dissipating white head and no lacing. The taste is immediately barnyard, and citrus, followed, sadly, by a watery cardboard flavor. Light body with moderate carbonation. Overall, the aroma and nose set my expectations higher than the taste was able to provide. Not bad, but disappointing. Would have liked a crisper, drier finish.

Can from The Liquor Collection, Honolulu, August 2013. (rating 3200)
Hazy yellow with a small white head. Quite a lot of spices in this one, lemongrass, citrus, yeast and fruit. Resfreshing and easy to drink. A solid summer beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml Can from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£4.20):
Lemon and citrus with some yeast along with some sweetness and a tiny hint of lemongrass but not as much as I had imagined.
Cloudy yellow/straw colour with a thin, half centimetre tall head that is very bubbly looking white colour.
Yeast backed up to a lesser extent by some citrus and a faint hint of sweetness. The beer is fairly standard for a saison with some spice and a slightly tarty taste.
Lots of carbonation,a hint of citrus and spice and overall the beer is light to light-medium bodied and quite wet on the palate for the style.
I expected more from this but it failed to deliver and was average throughout. The taste and smell were both lacking although the beer did look the part, it just didn’t back it up elsewhere. It’s a typical saison in style and taste but not a great one.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
Pours a lovely yellow hue with a pretty skimpy head. Very light mouthfeel. Pleasant citrus notes with a hint of complexity. A very drinkable ale but not complicated enough for a true saison in my opinion. Still very refreshing on a hot day. I’ll get this one again.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours very cloudy yellow with a short head that quickly disappears to nothing. Powerful citrus and spiced aroma and flavor. Light body, prickly carbonation, thin texture and a dry, light bitter finish. Interesting but it doesn’t seem like a saison to me. Still an interesting beer.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Definitly has lemon and pine with a bit of yeasty aroma. Cloudy bright golden color with a thin champagne like head. Citrus zing at the start with and bubbly feel that rolls from the front to the back of the tongue then a dry after feel that rolls from the back to the tip of the tongue. After a few sips an apricot taste starts to appear and the dryness gains a hold more and more.Very nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz can courtesy of an extra from daknole, I believe. Thanks, dude. Finally popped this while starting to dump a bunch of ratings from GTMW. Pours a well hazed golden straw hue, dulled banana and lemon, darker well hazed body. A bubbly bright white head atop stays as a filmy layer, laces ok. Sticks around as a decent film. Aromas are gentle tart lemon, rind, and grassy earth. Lemongrass, gentle bread, some fruity esters, mellow yeastiness starts to grow as it warms and settles. Initial is lighter end of the fold, some decent dryness, lemon, and grassy character. Some decent florals and earthy hops, gentle citrus, fruit, and dough. Middle shows a bit of sweetness, girth but nothing that takes this out of the crushable realm. A bit dry, more lemongrass character as we round the corner. Dry, some decent dry bitter hops at times into the back. Some yeastiness, spice. Finish is a bit more bitter and dry than I’d have anticipated, yeasty, bready. Nice. Nothing overwhelming. A good deal of wheat character.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml can from Ales by Mail
Pours hazy yellow with a smooth head. Strange aroma of earthy farmyard notes, yeast, lemon and raw doughy malts. Taste is crisp, funky and hoppy with loads of lemongrassy notes, hints of citrus and fruits with some spices as well. Finish is smooth, fruity and a bit juicy with some spiciness and yeasty notes. Quite unbalanced, the aroma is slightly off-putting, but at least the taste is a bit better.
