COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dogfish Head superstar Ė Sam Calagione, will be our fearless collaborator! The result Ė a beer-epiphany never before innovated called Liquid Breadfruit!

To celebrate the cornucopia of a Maui-grown harvest, we will ingeniously combine local breadfruit (or ulu) & toasted papaya seeds into the recipe of an imperial golden ale fermented using Dogfish Headís DNA (Delaware-Native-Ale) yeast. You wonít want to wait until October to try it, but oh it will be worth the wait!

Hazy amber beer, small white head. Palate is light and crisp and dry. Minerals. An unusual dry fruity flavour, slightly vegetal, which I guess is the breadfruit. Vague cactus and a touch of lime. A little sweeter fruit follows and shows a flash of orange. Minerally dry finish with an unusual fruity aftertaste. Off the beaten track but a tad dry.

Draught at the Yard House, Honolulu, HI
Nice golden color, clean, with small head. The aroma is moderately fruity. Round mouthfeel; some malt flavor with pleasant and mild fruity impression, quite bold bitterness, and some alcohol feeling in the end.
Nice.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours kind of golden copper with a transient white head. Aroma is a bit earthy. Then a hint of melon? Full bodied. Flavor is earthy and a little nutty/roasty. Not sure Iím getting fruit, but thereís something that could well be. I have no idea what breadfruit tastes like. Finishes fairly dry and sort of earthy bitter. Itís very nice when I quit worrying about what it is.

Pours a hazed golden orange color with a white head. Very interesting tropical fruit aroma. A fair amount of breadfruit, some perfume, a light breadiness, and a lot of yeast. Strong bready malt character, some tropical fruits, a bit of banana, and some yeast. Light citrus sweetness and flavor, mild spice, and a strong perfume character.

a hazed golden ale with a thick creamy white head. In aroma, sweet vanilla and marzipan, light chalky notes, pleasant. In mouth, sweet malty ale with mineral notes, a bit of fruit pulp, OK. At the REAL gastropub, Zwanze day, Dec. 1 2012.
