COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dogfish Head superstar – Sam Calagione, will be our fearless collaborator! The result – a beer-epiphany never before innovated called Liquid Breadfruit!

To celebrate the cornucopia of a Maui-grown harvest, we will ingeniously combine local breadfruit (or ulu) & toasted papaya seeds into the recipe of an imperial golden ale fermented using Dogfish Head’s DNA (Delaware-Native-Ale) yeast. You won’t want to wait until October to try it, but oh it will be worth the wait!

Can at Antenna America, Yokohama. Clear orange colour with a large white head. Sweet slightly fruity aroma. Fruity flavour.

Clear golden color. Small white head. Sweet aroma like orangejuice. The bite is sharp and bitter with a lot of sweetness and biscuit. Bitter bland finish.

Can. Pours a very hazy amber color with a moderate off-white head. Nose is definitely fruity, with some slight bread as well as an almost citrus-berry note. Taste is actually a little sour, and with a lot more bite to it than I expected. Not bad, but I’m not a fruit beer fan, really.

Can. Pours clear gold with average, creamy white head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is cereal and cookie malts, tropical fruit, floral and citrus hops, lemon, and light toast. Flavor is sweet malts forward with supporting tropical fruit esters, light floral hops, light yeast, and faint citrus; dry, lightly sweet finish. Light/medium body and low carbonation.

Curiously odd but interesting beer. Cloudy; thinnish head. Very bready and earthy. Chewy texture with some alcohol burn in the aftertaste. Hot fusel nips. Slightly cloying. Pleasant fruitiness in the background. Mild bitterness.

This was shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. I poured from the 12 oz can a copper color with a quick fading white head. Aroma is a earthy and of melon. Medium plus in body . Smooth in the mouth. The flavor is fruity, with melon and what I assume is the breadfruit. Finishes somewhat dry.

Can; poured an orange-amber color with a big frothy white head. Aroma of yeast, fruit, a touch of sourness, alcohol and herbs. Flavor was more muted than I expected, which was good because I don’t think I love the flavor profile. Some tartness, too aggressive yeast and fruit notes, with a rather short finish.

dark golden color. Tropical fruit, hoppy and estry nose. Thick, almost syrupy mouth, full body, lots of tropical fruit. Rounded. Pleasant Belgian strong golden ale.

Approximately 3-4 oz sampler at the Brewpub in Lahaina, Maui. The pour is a light haze golden amber, with a light tan head. The aroma is light candy sweetness and a strawberry fruit character (that’s the breadfruit, perhaps?). The taste is big on the sweet fruitiness, the strawberry, along with a bunch malt, a bit of dustiness, and finally a touch of Dogfish yeast. The palate is medium bodied, quite dry, and natural sweetness throughout. Interesting, well executed.

In bottle at Craig’s. Pours a blonde colour with a thin white head. Aroma of pine, pineapple and alcohol with a lovely fruity character. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Lovely.
