Pours light straw with little head retention, smell is faint and slightly sweet, taste is very sweet, very malty, light to medium bodied, very drinkable, pretty good.

On tap for Hard Liver í12, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel / toffee, dark fruits and just enough hops. Flavour of plums, raisins, toffee, hop-forward notes and some citrus fruits. Full-bodied, sticky and complex.

On tap at Brouwerís Hard Liver í12. Pours a cloudy deep orange. Fruit and gummy cinnamon bears on the nose. Far more fruit in the flavor. Tasty, if a bit odd.

Draft at Stone Bistro. Clear orange amber pour, the head is just a ring around the edge of the glass. Sweet malts, toffee, musty bread, bitter hops and some fruit. A fine barleywine, but overall Iím not too impressed.

A: The pour is amber in color with no visible carbonation or head formation. S: Sweet malts, brown sugar, toffee, and lots of alcohol to the nose. A bit of a dark fruitiness, and some hints of stale citrus hops. T: Bready malts along with some toffee and molasses. A weird cough syrup type of cherry flavor, alcohol, and cardboard. Not a very appetizing combination. M: The body is somewhat light for a barleywine with almost no carbonation. D: Donít see what the appeal of this beer is. The more of these Maui beers I tried on draft, the more Iím beginning to think the canned ones are the best bet.

Sampled on Maui. Dark orange color. Ultra sweet nose of banana and caramel. Nice. Medium body, very creamy texture. Finishes malty then bitter. Would like to try this one again. Please send some to the mainland!

Served on tap at the brewpub. Appearance is a brilliant amber hue. The flavors and aromas are surprisingly hoppy. There are a lot of good sweet malty flavors too. Reminds me almost of a slightly aged imperial IPA.
