Tight nose. I do get a botanic sense from it. A mix of herbal and floral. Taste wise it is a bit subdued. Could be a little hoppier. Balanced delivery of flavour though. Consistent from start to finish.

Had this at the Maui Brewing brewpub. Very vibrant, clear, deep golden color with a white head. Grapefruit and floral nose. Mouthfeel is amazing. Nearly chewy, oily, full, with just enough carbonation. Nicely hopped flavors yield grapefruit in spades. A bit of hop hotness at the finish. A really good pale ale.

From notes, had at Obriens pub for SDBW. Pours golden brownish with yellow hues and a small white head. Nose is caramel and pine, toffee hints and citrus. Taste is sweet and bitter though the end. Mouthfeel is slick and creamy at room temp, medium body and a long finish.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 7/6/12

Aroma: The nose has citrus hops, caramel malts, light spice, and some resin/pine
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-orange color, with a small white head, and light lace
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, with some light spice, and medium-plus bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-full, slightly sticky, and just a hint of heat, with a spiced/dry finish
Overall Impression: This one was quite interesting. I’m not 100% sure what they were trying to make, but I know that I enjoyed it. I’m glad I got to sample some of these brewpub offerings from Maui, as they are rather interesting and fairly unique compared to what they sell in cans.
