3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ripe pineapple nose, some soft wheat. Deep gold color, slightly hazy, thick fluffy head. Slight wheat biscuit, huge pineapple flavor, mild bitterness, no hop flavor or aroma, balance is to the pineapple, but it works. Big carbonation, lightish body, mouth feel is a little slick with a coating of pineapple juice type of feel, finish is crisp, with pineapple flavor lingering. Fruity beers are probably my least favorite, but this one is executed nicely, the pineapple presence is unbelievable, this would pair so well with Thai food or Polynesian cuisine, definitely worth trying.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can from wine shop Frederick. Pours golden with a thin white head and doesn’t leave much lacing. not much on the nose. has a bit of citrus on the tongue which gives it kind of a breakfast beer vibe, but it’s not overly sweet. It finishes clean and crisp. I liked more than I thought I would.

Tap at poolside bar in Maui. Nose is sweet wheat and color is a bit more amber than a true wheat. Pineapple sweetness shines thru. Best served with a pineapple spear. Great start to maui

Sadly, I think it is the pineapple that turns this brew into something resembling a Budweiser. Not wheaty really at all. Citrus aftertaste and mild sourness. Needs much more wheat/yeast to be drinkable.

From a can into a pint glass, hazy dirty golden coor withna sturdy bright white head. faint German wheat aroma, with some light malts. Fruity but not typical Bavarian yeast flavors. Floral and odd. Not standard american wheat nor classic German. Pleasant but very different. Maybe I’m just a houli

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
A: copper ale with near opaqueness - uber hazy. 1-2 finger peanut head which is loosely packed. Falls to a thick quilt of the same.
S: Clove, belgian-esque wheat smell. Sweet and airy. The pineapple is subdued and adds a hint of savory sweetness. The yeast owns this though.
T: Hmm, the thing I first notice is that the beer is middle of the road for wheat PA’s, but the beer has a weird burnt match flavor at the end. Not so much so that it is offensive, but quirky nonetheless. The yeast continues to dominate the beer. The pineapple, again, is subdued and actually adds (IMO) a metallic finish.
M: Medium body with moderate carbonation. Dries the palate, but in a waxy way - smooth.
O: Well, interesting take on the AWPA, but not really up my alley. The yeast overwhelms the novelty ingredient of the beer. Likely would have been better off in a lower wheat proportionate grain bill, lower SRM and body.
