3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, 0.50l, shared with colleagues. Pitch black color with thin creamy light brown head and nice lacing. Aroma of heavily roasted malt, smoke, charcoal and leather. Taste starts with light sweet but rich roasted malt with nutty note, following is smoky and mild fruity, mouthfeel is dry, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. This one was incredibly hard to drink, smoke and leather notes were too strong...

Many thanks to bobinlondon for carting this beer from cask in his local, into a bottle, then onto a train through the chunnel, around Brussels and finally to Düsseldorf - You are a true gentleman!! Pours very dark black/brown with a tan head that quickly dissolves. The smell is big roasted malt, licorice, molasses, a bit of char, nutty, a hint of coffee. The taste is dark roasted malt, char, a little smoke ending quite dry. The body is Light+ with light carbonation. A truly nice dry, bitter stout!
