Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Near black. Appley nose. Sweet and roasty, lightly soapy with some grassy hops and licorice showing up in a bitter finish. Nicely rounded, but well sweet, even if it dries out towards the finish.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle bought from the brewery. I had to go to Sudbury on work, so popped into the brewery which was excellent and had a little chat. It seems incredible that I’ve never rated this. Seen it at a lot of BFs but never had it. Black beer, tan head, lovely smoky stout aroma. Choc/coffee on aroma too. Smooth and full in mouth and then charcoal and acidity on palate late, with a dry finish. It lives up to its reputation. Excellent craftwork.
