A full bodied, black porter with a balanced hop aroma and rich blend of chocolate and roast flavours that give way to a subtle sweet fruit finish.

Sampled @ GBBF. Opaque dark brown to black color color with a red glare coming through, small off-white head. Aroma is very very fruity, lots of blackberry and red currant in there. Taste is soft and round, lightly malts, very fruity again with blackberries and a touch of red fruit, slightly sweet and a touch of dark malts. Well done, like it.

Cask at GBBF 2014. Pours a dark reddy brown. Sweet ribena aroma. Light body, light carbonation. Tastes like ribena and vim to mixed with a had-decent porter. Nope.

Beese (1783) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2014
Cask at the Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 17 April 2013. Poured a very dark ruby, near black with a tan head and some lacing. Strong berry aroma with some liquorice and dark malt. Flavour was off balance with too much blackberry sweetness, which was Ribena-esque. This masked the roasted malt and dark fruit flavours, which were more to the fore in the palate.

Nch Beer Fest. Very dark brown. Blackberries punching you in the face with their sweet, slightly acidic bobbly fists. The tartness complement the roast malts surprisingly well, making this a nice change of pace from other porters.

On draft JDW somewhere in York this Spring. Nice medium bodied beer with medium carbonation. Aroma fruity blackberry. Taste dark liquorice blackberry jam. Clean at the ending

Cask @ Back of Beyond. Aroma is all blackberry. Deep black, tight head. Flavour is yet more blackberry, some sweetness, light bitterness. More a dark, boozy, blackberry drink than a porter, but wonderfully drinkable. Like this one.
