3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at The Stockbridge Tap. Black body with a tight beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate and raspberry syrup. Flavour of Ribena, cocoa powder and rich chocolate cake. It lacks subtlety but I enjoyed it. This reminded me of a lighter version of Fallen’s Big Raspberry Dog Chew.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Notes from a while ago, on draft. Black with a bubbly head. Tastes like you’d expect, a nice blend of porter and blackberries. Smooth. Light roast and berry aroma, but the combination doesn’t work as well for the aroma as it does the taste. Fair, but the novelty wears off after a bit.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) A black colour with a foamy tan head.
Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice, blackberry, slight chocolate and subtle smoke, smells like blackberry lozenges. Taste of burnt caramel, some roasted malts, spicy blackberry, slight chocolate, subtle cherry and herbal lozenges. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A lingering, roasted, blackberry bitterness in the finish. A nice porter with a great blackberry character. Good roasted and chocolate flavours too. A little herbal and medicinal though.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from a Suffolk farm shop. Deep chestnut, almost blck with a thin cream head. Very strong blackberry aroma. The taste is all blackberry throat lozenge. Lots of blackberry flavour, but strongly medicinal. I didn’t really enjoy this. Too much blackberry, too little porter. A least it had some character.
