COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - March to May. Previously 4.5%.
This Spring beer is a traditional bitter colour, its subtle malt flavour is complimented with a fine finish resulting from the use of Golding and Fuggles hops varieties.

Handpull, The Felix, Nuneaton, 16/06/13. Brassy orange lacing with each sip. Grassy, sherbet and apricot aroma. Mellow orange aniseed and herb notes;. light bitterness and soapy pine. Decent.

Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in May 2013. Cask, handpump dispense. Pump clip shows a cuckoo? but it looks like a blue version of Lichtensteinís Oriole to me! Clear pale amber in colour with a thin white creamy head. Slight note of fruity lychees in the short floral aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malts give a zesty fruit note of citric fruit with pink grapefruit and gooseberry dominant. Cereal flavour evident in the bitter hoppy aftertaste. Finish is tart with sweet notes fleeting. An ok summer session ale but I would stick with Black Adder!

Cask at the White Swan, Solihull. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is dry malt leading to a medium to weak bitter flavour, with a smooth hoppy malt palate and lingering bitterness in the finish. Serve on the cool side for a fine session bitter.

Cask @ JDW Elgin [190513]
Amber, clear, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma - light fruity hops, soft caramel malts
Taste of soft zesty hops, light caramel malt, some slightly tart fruits, dab of cereal malts
Palate - Medium body, quite oily, fairly bitter bit tangy palate. Finish of soft bitter hops with some digestive biscuit malt coming through, bit dry, fairly bitter bit zesty linger, cleans well off palate
Overall - Pretty quaffable, quite decent, good condition
